Adventure
Glass Eden
Glass Eden A futuristic rebellion. A fractured memory. A truth that could shatter a perfect world. The city of **Caldera** shimmered beneath its translucent dome, suspended in perpetual twilight. Outside the barrier, the world was ash and ruin—a ghost of the planet’s former self. Inside: perfection. Or so they were told.

The Ghost of the Mountain
The Ghost of the Mountain Night falls over the mountain. I light a fire and its crackle soothes my heart. It's been two days since I climbed the mountain, and it still seems like such a stranger to me. My thoughts wander and land in my childhood: The jokes, the fears, the tragedies. I remember well the day I dressed up as an Indian: With bow, arrow, and tomahawk. Now, I was on a sacred mountain, precisely because of the death of a mysterious indigenous man (the Medicine Man of the tribe). I have to think of something else, for the fear is freezing my soul. Deafening noises surround my hut, and I have no idea what or who they are. How does one overcome his fear on an occasion like this? Answer me, reader because I don't know. The mountain is still unknown to me.

The Second Challenge
The Second Challenge Arriving at my hut, I find the guardian of the mountain who appears more brilliant than ever. Her eyes never stray from my own. I think that I am exceptional to God. I feel his presence at all times. He resurrects me in every way. When I was unemployed, He opened a door; when I didn't have any opportunities to grow professionally, He gave me new paths; when in times of crisis, He freed me from the bonds of Satan. Anyway, that look of approval from the strange woman reminded me of the man I was up until recently. My current goal was to win, regardless of the obstacles that I had to overcome.

Top Ten: remarkable experimental aircraft
The spectacular North American X-15 was the pinnacle of the US series of ever-faster X-planes. Despite the fact that the previous record was set in 1967, this unparalleled aircraft continues to be the fastest aircraft ever built with a human pilot. It was carried to a high altitude beneath the wing of its NB-52 mothership before being released at 45,000 feet at a speed of about 500 miles per hour. At that point, the aircraft's rocket propulsion would propel it to speeds exceeding Mach 6 and altitudes exceeding 100 kilometers.

A shock to the scientific community
National Science Foundation Terminates Hundreds of Active Research Awards: A Shock to the Scientific Community The National Science Foundation (NSF) has canceled hundreds of active research grants in a variety of fields, a move that has shocked academic and scientific research communities. The stability of research careers, the future of U.S.-funded science, and the potential loss of groundbreaking innovations that may now be abandoned have all been seriously questioned as a result of this unprecedented action. Nearly 25% of all federally supported basic research conducted at American colleges and universities is supported by the NSF, an independent federal agency founded in 1950. Its grants fuel discoveries in biology, chemistry, physics, engineering, computer science, and social sciences, playing a critical role in maintaining the United States’ leadership in global innovation. As a result, the fact that active research grants have been terminated is an extremely unusual and deeply troubling development. The Dimensions and Characteristics of the Terminations The terminated grants affect early- and senior researchers, according to internal sources and preliminary data released by the NSF. There are estimates that more than 300 active awards have been halted, and termination letters cite a variety of reasons, from budget reallocations and program restructuring to administrative irregularities and compliance violations. In cases of noncompliance or ethical violations, some terminations are common, but the sheer number in this instance suggests a broader and more systemic shift. Numerous researchers stated that they were left scrambling to manage personnel, ongoing experiments, and institutional expectations after receiving abrupt notices without detailed explanations. According to Dr., "we were in the middle of a multi-year study with promising early results." Andrea Kim is a neuroscientist at a significant university in the Midwest. The termination letter followed. No explanation beyond ‘programmatic redirection.’ This is devastating—not just for my team, but for the future of our research.”
