Adventure
The Drowsy Cub Who Yearned For Slumber
The trees wept a certain dew on the mornings Huey’s mom barged into his room yelling about leaving in time so she would make it to work. “This is the last time I’m going to tell you. Get up!” Her stomps roared against the wood floors as she walked back to the kitchen repeating her words until they rippled away.

A Fool Named Jinn
Verse I The Fool climbed the last steps of the Tower and arrived at the final door. It loomed ominously at the end of a short passageway, beckoning him to take his last remaining steps forward into its gaping jaws. As if on cue with his arrival, the heavy stone door split in half and rumbled open, shaking off loose dirt and dust accumulated from nearly an eternity resting in its closed position. He stood still momentarily, one foot on the landing and one foot still on the last step of a grueling, twisting and turning staircase. A loud roar from inside the door reverberated through the hallway along with a powerful gust of wind and fog so thick he reflexively reached out to cover his eyes with his arm. Smoky tendrils in the shapes of disfigured looking hands and arms pulled at his ankles. His arms. His body. But they held no physical form and therefore applied no force in which to yank him through the door.

Adelaide
The rain pounded my face, and darkness loomed all around me. It was up to the flashes of lightning to illuminate my path, paired with my horse’s instinct to get me back to the cottage hidden deep within the forest. The continual rain had carried on for a fortnight working in my favour, washing away any tracks that lead back to my humble abode. I am convinced that after tonight the bounty on my head will significantly be increased by decree of the King. My neck unequivocally would find its way to the guillotine. Once secured within my home, drying myself by the fire, I reflected on the events leading up to this dreary night.

Warren and the Plane
It was his first solo flight, and the plane was going down. Of course, the plane was going down. Why wouldn’t it be? It was just Warren’s luck. His grandpa had just finished fixing the Cessna 172 for him, just in time for this flight. So why wouldn’t he be about to break it? Now Warren was trying to wrack his brain for what his grandpa had taught him, for what could be causing the engine to stop on a freezing cold day, ten thousand feet above the ground. If he didn’t make it through this flight successfully, he wasn’t sure if he’d have the courage to follow his dream of becoming a pilot anymore. He knew he could switch his frequency to 121.5 and get help, but he wanted to do this on his own. No- he needed to.

Separate Worlds
Fires raged in every direction, buildings that had still managed to survive on there foundations crumbled here and there finally succumbing to the destruction, unfortunate souls that had not been blessed to go right away laid on the streets crying from the pain they were experiencing; some were burnt so thoroughly it was hard to tell whether they were male or female, other bodies were contorted in such unimaginable positions that if anyone had been around to see they would have wondered for a brief second why the poor souls didn’t put themselves out their misery and then without second thought putting the poor souls out there misery, and why still others had lost so much blood from the extensive wounds they had occurred they laid on the ground rambling stuck between a state of life and death.
