I am like a room, forgotten

sealed up and locked away

With a reputation, ill gotten

absorbing blame, until decay

**

I am like a room, discarded

traded for something more

The doors, always intensely guarded

keyless locks, upon the door

**

I am like a room, neglected

of no use to anyone

The useful in me, long since, dissected

with new stories already spun

**

I am like a room, abandoned

vines growing thick, upon the walls

Nearly empty, newly dismantled

the perfect fool to take the fall

**

I am like a room, omitted

new words to fit the current mood

Too late now, to be acquitted

the scene suggests, how I am viewed

**

I am like a room, pretermit

the seal continuously renewed

For sins that no one dares admit

to make abandonment, construed

**

I am like a room, untrespassed

no one breaks the barricade

tightly sealed with plaster cast

having been wanting, measured and weighed

**

I am like a room, no one wants

windows boarded, do not enter

Still I remain here, nonchalant

grief and pains,' point, epicenter

**

I am like a room, that's lost

out of sight and out of mind

I am the line that can't be crossed

inside this door I hide behind

**

I am like a room, demolished

no remorse, when beat upon

A one time prize, that's left unpolished

one day here, the next, I'm gone

**

I am like a room, vacated

the things of worth, were stripped, like gold

What remained, gladly donated

covered now with dust and mold

**

I am like a room, that has been overlooked

frozen in a place of invisibility

Filled with air, consuming, cranny and nook

caught in a complex simile

**

I am like a room, fully exposed to lonely

where life and its desire is cut apart

Plain and unpretentious, some might call, homely

dissected and missing my heart

**

I am like a room, relinquished

all my strength wasted and gone

The joy in me has been extinguished

an empty room, devoid of home

**

I am like a room, rejected

packed away and left to rot

A virus spreading an infection

a sudden and severe onslaught

**

I am like a room that's damaged

no return, beyond repair

In disarray, after the ravage

as empty as a vacant stare

**

I am like a room, that's vacant

left alone, unoccupied

Still waiting and hopeful, one day, be awakened

throw open the blinds and welcome the light

**

I am like a room, forsaken

Caught in a web of hurt and lies

Encouraging some conversation

erase the past with another try

**

I am like a room, left in the lurch

without help when needed most

A sinner turned away from church

a prisoner whose guard has left his post

**

I am just a room, vacated

holding no power, wishing no ill will

From this home I am castrated

but there is time for healing, still

**

It's not too late to make the changes

we're not condemned to stay this course

All it would take is some rearranging

cleanse the walls of past remorse

**

Break down the door and let the light in

pull down the blinds, that made us blind

Cleanse the heart, forgive the sinner

apply some love and change your mind

**

This room can bring life to the whole house

gather near and light the fire

Nurture the seedlings, watching them sprout

reaching the goals that you desire

**

Until this house becomes a home

and each room offers peace and love

A little paint and the pain is gone

(maybe not "gone", but surely, better.) Until it fits you like a glove
