After returning from collecting a few of the only dry logs left in the forest, Sophie was alerted to the presence of footsteps in the snow. She stopped dead in her tracks; only a few feet away from the warm, cozy, cabin that awaited her. She was thirsty from the brisk walk in the forest; surrounded by snowflakes resembling ice chips and hail. And now she had to deal with fresh footsteps seemingly appearing from nowhere.

There weren't any tire tracks from another vehicle in the road that led to her cabin. Size 12 Boots. But who did they belong to? Sophie had been out at the cabin alone for the past 2 days and she wasn't expecting company.

The footsteps had left their marks on the stairs leading inside of the cabin.

Sophie slowly approached the steps with caution. All she had were those logs. She had slowly unlocked the cabin door, walking straight to the fireplace to get a roaring fire started; The sun was setting, and the temperature was dropping at a drastic rate.

"Hello? Is anyone in here? Hello? " Sophie called out. She slowly removed her coat, hat, and gloves and laid them on the couch, blowing warm air into her hands.

Sophie decided to check the perimeter because she didn't need more creepy surprises. Her rifle was in her bedroom on the second floor, so Sophia started water for tea, and grabbed a butcher knife and headed upstairs to make sure she was alone.
