Detective Jameson had been chasing the notorious serial killer known as "The Silent Killer" for months, but each time he got close, the killer slipped away. The killer had already claimed ten victims, all of them young women who had been strangled with a cord. There were no witnesses, no fingerprints, no DNA evidence. The killer was a ghost.

Jameson was working late in his office, going through files and crime scene photos, trying to find a clue that would lead him to the killer. He was exhausted, but he couldn't stop. He knew that every moment he spent trying to solve the case was a moment that the killer was out there, stalking his next victim.

Suddenly, the phone rang. Jameson picked it up.

"Detective Jameson," he said.

"Hello, Detective," said a voice on the other end of the line. It was a man's voice, low and quiet. "I have information about The Silent Killer."

Jameson's heart skipped a beat. "Who is this?" he asked.

"I can't tell you that," said the voice. "But I can tell you that the killer will strike again tonight. His next victim will be a young woman, blonde hair, blue eyes. She'll be walking home from work around midnight."

"Where will he strike?" Jameson asked.

"At the corner of 5th and Main," said the voice. "But you have to hurry, Detective. There's not much time."

Jameson slammed down the phone and grabbed his coat. He raced out of the office and into his car. He turned on the sirens and sped through the city, trying to make it to the corner of 5th and Main before the killer did.

As he approached the intersection, he saw a young woman walking down the street. She matched the description the caller had given him. Jameson pulled over and got out of the car. He tried to signal to the woman to stop, but she didn't see him. She kept walking.

Suddenly, Jameson heard a scream. He raced towards the sound and found the woman lying on the ground, gasping for air. She had been strangled.

Jameson called for backup and an ambulance, but he knew it was too late. The Silent Killer had struck again, and this time, he had gotten away.

Jameson returned to his office, defeated. He sat down at his desk and stared at the files in front of him. He knew he had to find a way to catch the killer, but he didn't know how.

Suddenly, he noticed something odd about one of the crime scene photos. There was a piece of cord lying on the ground, but it didn't match the cord that had been used to strangle the victim. Jameson realized that the killer had left it there on purpose, as a clue.

He examined the cord closely and saw that it had been manufactured by a small company in a neighboring town. Jameson jumped in his car and drove to the town, determined to find the source of the cord.

It took him several hours, but he finally tracked down the manufacturer. He spoke to the owner, who showed him the records of all the cords he had sold in the past year. Jameson searched through them and found one that matched the cord used in the latest murder.

He traced the cord back to its buyer, a man named Thomas Greene. Jameson ran a background check on Greene and found that he had a criminal record for assault and battery. He had been released from prison a year ago, around the same time the murders had started.

Jameson and his team rushed to Greene's apartment, but he wasn't there. They searched the place and found evidence linking him to
