Shituation
A First World or White Person’s Problem
“Rhonda, where’s the Splenda?”
“We’re out Mark. You’ll have to use regular sugar.”
“That’ll blow my diet.” He pressed the button to turn on the Breville. “The light on the damn espresso maker is flashing. We need to replace the filter.”
“I’ll put it on the Amazon order.”
RING ~ RING ~ RING
Rhonda scrambled to find her iPhone. “Hello, Jackie… This Thursday… We’ll get the guest room ready… Love you too.”
KHERG ~ KHERG ~ KHERG
“Seriously, Mark! Did you really have to froth your milk while I was on the phone?”
“What’s going on?” Mark made a snarling face as he stirred a heaping teaspoon of sugar into his latte.
“My sister is bringing her boyfriend to meet us this weekend.”
“We have tickets for RENT Friday night.”
“Damn it,” said Rhonda. “I’ll go online and try to get a couple more seats.”
“Put them on the Marriott card,” said Mark. “We need a few more points for that resort on Oahu.”
“We discussed using our Marriott points for the hotel in Kauai.”
“Last time we went there, you lost your diamond bracelet in the surf,” said Mark, taking a sip of his coffee.
Rhonda turned the TV to CNN. “Seventy Israelis dead in the conflict with Hezbollah, a Russian missile destroys a cathedral in Kiev, but first, there was another school shooting in Boston.”
“Turn that shit off,” said Mark. “We have serious problems to deal with. However, this coffee is so much better with real sugar!”

This is exactly how the world works, yet what can we do, demonstrate and make a heap more problems which does not help the suffering. Shituation indeed.
