In the expansive realm of soccer, a legendary player, self-proclaimed as the "Golden Leg," dominates the field with an unparalleled ability to score points every time he takes a shot at the goal. His teammate, Han, often subjected to bullying by the Golden Leg, presents an opportunity for immense wealth. The proposal involves intentionally losing a match, a proposition accepted by the Golden Leg driven by sheer greed. In a fateful turn of events, he purposefully kicks the ball over the goal, inciting the fury of the crowd. The enraged spectators descend upon him, delivering a brutal beating that leaves the Golden Leg crippled. Seizing the opportunity, Han rises to become a highly successful coach, leaving the Golden Leg as his assistant and subject to daily humiliation.

Fueled by a desire for redemption, the Golden Leg yearns for a chance to coach a team, but Han dismisses him, disparaging his abilities, reducing him to a mere shadow of his former self. The Golden Leg's pleas for belief and acknowledgment fall on deaf ears, and Han callously reveals that he orchestrated the events, paying individuals to purposefully break his leg. The once revered Golden Leg, now a pariah, roams the streets, haunted by despair and helplessness.

Amidst this desolation, the Golden Leg stumbles upon a soccer match, triggering memories of his glory days. A mysterious voice interrupts his thoughts, guiding him to a garbage man practicing unconventional leg stretches. The man introduces himself as Sing, an advocate of Shaolin kung fu, and hands the Golden Leg a business card with a dubious aura. Sing passionately argues the utility of kung fu in daily life, recounting incidents where its knowledge could have averted misfortune.

Initially dismissing Sing as a joke, the Golden Leg hurls a beer can at him. To the Golden Leg's astonishment, Sing kicks it out of sight in a display of incredible skill. Despite their initial parting, Sing continues to showcase his strength, helping a man move a fridge with apparent ease. As he collects money from garbage, Sing witnesses May, a woman skilled in tai chi, effortlessly making buns using her martial arts prowess.

Sing attempts to buy buns from May, relying on his charm and an unconventional deposit—his broken shoes. Undeterred by the rejection, Sing resorts to street singing, drawing a crowd with hypnotic rhythms. However, their revelry is short-lived as the restaurant owner disrupts the impromptu performance, prompting Sing to flee without paying, leaving his discarded shoes behind.

The narrative shifts to Sing's encounter with his first brother, Iron Head, employed in a nightclub. Sing proposes using singing and dancing to popularize Shaolin kung fu, but Iron Head dismisses his dreams, highlighting the harsh reality of their lives. A violent altercation ensues, revealing the brothers' struggles and Sing's reluctance to jeopardize Iron Head's job.

Meanwhile, the Golden Leg discovers a beer can stuck in a wall, a relic of Sing's remarkable kick. As he attempts to retrieve it, the wall crumbles, revealing a brewing confrontation between Sing and nightclub gangsters. Sing's extraordinary skills unfold, culminating in a showdown where he uses soccer kicks to repel the thugs.

Recognizing Sing's untapped potential, the Golden Leg proposes harnessing his abilities for soccer. However, Sing insists on acquiring a pair of shoes first. Returning to May, Sing discovers that she threw away his broken shoes, only to receive a pleasant surprise—they are repaired and adorned with May's stickers. Sing, now equipped, approaches his brothers, urging them to join a Shaolin soccer team to revitalize kung fu's popularity. Overcoming initial reluctance, the brothers gather for training, each grappling with lost skills and faded abilities.

Their training, marked by comic mishaps and absurdities, leads to progress as Sing learns to control his superhuman strength. Golden Leg organizes their entry into a soccer competition, pitting them against a team composed of thugs from the nightclub Sing encountered earlier. The comedic and intense match unfolds, showcasing the Shaolin team's rediscovered powers and defeating their opponents.

The narrative takes a darker turn as Han, the antagonist, schemes to cripple opposing players using drugs. In the finals, the Shaolin team faces the Devil Team, manipulated by Han. The Golden Leg and his team find themselves outmatched, with the Devil Team resorting to brutal tactics to injure and disqualify their opponents.

Despite a grim situation, May steps forward, offering her repaired shoes to Sing. The climax of the match sees May using her tai chi skills to deflect a devastating kick and unleash a powerful counterattack, defeating the Devil Team. Han's defeat leads to his imprisonment, while Sing continues to wear May's repaired shoes, symbolizing triumph over adversity.

In the aftermath, Sing observes people incorporating kung fu into their daily lives, signaling the successful popularization of the ancient art. The film concludes with Sing jogging down the street, embodying a newfound sense of purpose and accomplishment.

In essence, this soccer-centric saga intricately weaves themes of redemption, resilience, and the transformative power of martial arts into a narrative rich with humor, action, and poignant moments. The characters' journeys, from despair to triumph, create a compelling cinematic experience that blends sports, martial arts, and comedy in a unique and entertaining narrative.
