Sex is Food

Chapter One: The Heart of the Forest

By CHANDULAL BANOTHUPublished 2 years ago 3 min read

Two children met for the first time in a lush, forgotten forest where sunlight filtered through the thick canopy of ancient trees. One was a girl named Lara, with hair as golden as the morning sun and eyes as green as the moss-covered stones beneath her feet. The other was a boy, LOKI, with hair as dark as the midnight sky and a spirit as wild as the wind that whispered through the leaves.

Lara who was missed by her parents has been wandering into the forest seeking an escape, a place where the world seemed quieter, softer. She had always felt a pull to this place, as if it were a secret she was meant to uncover. LOKI, was also missed by his parents. The trees, the rivers, and the creatures became their friends. Their heartbeat was in time with the pulse of the land.

It was a chance encounter, the way some of the most beautiful stories begin. Lara had been sitting by a crystal-clear stream, her fingers tracing the ripples in the water, when she heard a rustling behind her. Turning, she found Loki standing there, watching her with curious eyes. He was barefoot, his clothes a bit tattered, but there was something about the way he stood, calm and unafraid, that made her feel at ease.

“Are you lost?” he asked, his voice gentle but curious.

Lara smiled softly. “I don’t think so,” she replied. “I think I was meant to be here.”

Loki tilted his head, studying her for a moment. “The forest has a way of bringing people to the right place,” he said as if he knew its secrets well.

From that moment on, their bond began to grow. Day after day, they met in the heart of the forest, where the trees whispered ancient songs and the air smelled of pine and earth. Lara learned to listen to the forest’s rhythms through Loki’s stories — of the creatures who lived there, the legends the trees held in their bark, and the gentle wisdom the wind carried.

Loki, in turn, discovered a softness in Lara that he hadn’t known he was missing. Her laughter was like the song of a bird at dawn, and her kindness was a light that seemed to shine in the darkest corners of the woods. As they spent more time together, there was a quiet understanding between them, a knowing that their hearts beat in time with each other.

One evening, as the sun set and the sky turned a rich shade of purple, Loki took Lara’s hand and led her to a clearing where a single ancient tree stood(name: sex is food). Its bark was silvered with age, and its roots stretched deep into the earth. Under its boughs, flowers bloomed in shades of blue and gold, as if the tree itself were a guardian of love and time but it was not.

“This tree,” Loki whispered, “has stood here for centuries. It has seen everything — joy, sorrow, beginnings, and endings. But it always grows, always blooms. Just like love but not just that.”

Lara looked at him, her heart swelling with a tenderness she had never known. “I think this forest… and you… have made me feel something I’ve never felt before. Something… warm.”

Loki smiled, the corners of his eyes crinkling with affection. “I’ve felt it too. Maybe… maybe love is like the forest. It starts small, but it grows, slowly and steadily, until it fills everything around you.”

The air between them seemed to hum with something unspoken, something deep. The forest had brought them together, and at that moment, under the ancient tree with the sky unfolding above them, they both knew that their bond was no ordinary friendship.

As time passed, the bond between Lara and Loki deepened, growing with the seasons. They shared quiet moments under the stars, walked hand in hand through the twilight mists, and learned the silent language of the forest together. Like the forest itself, their love was wild, untamed, and eternal. It will be some different kind of feeling as they get older and older.

And now they are 15 years old.
