SEED
by Zink
In the dark, moist, earthen envelope, miracles of propagation progress, unchanged in format for millennia. Yet with every instance, casually imperceptible alterations ensue. Controlled by happenstance and perpetuated by necessity, some unknown great plan controls germination and hybridization with its myriad variations to benefit life itself. The; ramifications are ploddingly consistent, and life goes on; sprouting, stretching, growing, becoming the thing its DNA predicts, orders, and ensures. How else would a tree manifest its destiny to absorb eternally ageless energy propelled through airless space to a tiny blue dot in the cosmos? How is that not magic?
