She was born with the first snowflakes being carried through the cracks of the cottage door by the howling wind. The midwife looked over the child carefully while wrapping the child in the wool cloth. The midwife found what she was looking for on the bottom of the child’s foot.

“She’s so beautiful.” She told the mother who was finally resting in the bed.

“So much pain for such a little bundle.” The mother said with a sigh.

With the child bundled, the midwife gave her to the mother who began to nurse the infant. The midwife watched the mother for a few moments to see the baby was nursing and sat in the rocking chair to keep warm by the raging fire. Her plan came together as she rocked and watched the mother doating over the child.

The child sleeping in the cradle, and the mother sound asleep in her bed, the midwife silently slipped a dagger from her bag. Sneaking up to the side of the bed she waited for the mother to exhale her final snore. A quick and heavy swipe of the dagger across the throat allowed blood to flow gushingly. The mother’s eyes flew open, and her mouth worked as she tried to draw a breath, but nothing came. She stumbled from the bed groping for the murderer. The midwife backed away from the scene and waited silently for death to claim the mother. As her body fell, the mother reached out for the child and her fingers brushed the cradle which gently rocked never waking the baby. The midwife left the cottage with the baby wrapped protected against the cold as the shadows of clouds crossed over the moon bound for the castle of the Queen.

Standing in the vast stone room, the cold penetrating her body, she began to shake. Hearing the clicking of heels announcing the arrival of the Queen, the midwife peered in the dark trying to find where the sound was coming from. With a snap of fingers, the torches lining the room came to life. The midwife cowered as she saw the queen sitting on her royal throne.

“Your majesty, I beg your pardon for arriving so late. I have the child.” The midwife quickly explained.

“She has the mark?” The icy voice pierced the silence.

“Yes, on her foot.” The midwife said.

“Bring her forth.” The Queen demanded.

The midwife carried the child forward, uncovered the foot and held it up for the Queen to examine the mark. The Queen shrank back upon seeing the mark on the foot of the child that was foretold to bring about the end of the Queen. Seeing the reaction of the Queen, the midwife bundled the child tightly in the cloth and cowered low waiting for the wrath of the Queen.

“You will remain here and raise the child.” The Queen pronounced with a quiver in her voice. “Is the mother of the child dead?”

“Yes, your majesty.” The midwife said.

The Queen stood from the throne and clapped her hands together. It sounded like thunder as the sound bounced from stone to stone. The floor began to shake as a single flame from every torch jumped onto the stone floor and began dancing. With another clap of the Queen’s hands the flames raged into life until a shadow appeared in the circle of dancing flames. When the fire died away, left standing there was a grotesque creature unlike anything the midwife had ever imagined could exist.

“You can never leave the castle. This creature will give you everything you need for yourself and the child. Beware, this creature never sleeps, nor will it allow you to leave. Take them to the room.” The Queen commanded. The creature shambled towards the doorway and the midwife followed it.

For the next twenty-three years the midwife cared for the child, living in the dank dungeon surrounded only by the torch and firelight. The child grew into a beautiful woman with flowing black hair and alabaster skin from living in the dark. The midwife came to love the child and tried many times to fool the creature to escape from the castle, but all her plans failed. The midwife knew the day was coming when the Queen would kill the child.

One day the Queen stood in front of the magic mirror and said her spell to call the spirit in the mirror to come forward.

“Spirit in the mirror, tell me when the child is to be destroyed.” The Queen asked.

“The child, my Queen, should be destroyed today, to ensure you will rule all the land forever more.” The mirror intoned.

“It shall be done.” The Queen stated. She said her spell and the mirror went dark as the spirit went back to the netherworld.

Walking away the Queen summoned the creature and gave it orders to take the child to the forest, kill her, and bring back her heart for proof of death. The creature bowed to the Queen and shambled back to the room to get the child. Opening the door, the creature motioned to the child to come out. The midwife fearing this was the time the child would be killed, rushed at the creature and with one powerful blow knocked the midwife to the ground where she laid not able to stop the creature taking the child away from her. The child left the room, and the door was closed and locked. The creature motioned to the child to follow, obeying, they began walking, leaving the castle behind and made their journey towards the forest.

Coming to a clearing in the middle of the forest the creature stopped and prepared to kill the child.

“Bog, why are we stopping?” The child asked.

Looking at the child the creature couldn’t look into her eyes. The child didn’t know that the creature came to love the child as the midwife loved her as it watched her grow over the years. It came to love hearing the child laugh and giggle and she never feared it no matter how grotesque it looked. It took the dagger that killed her mother from its cloak and raised it above it’s head. Seeing the dagger, the child began to cry. Hearing her weeping, it lowered the dagger letting it fall from its hand to the ground. It moaned and began flailing its arms at the child motioning for the child to run away. Seizing her chance, the child ran leaving the creature behind.

She ran until darkness fell and finally came to a cottage. Looking into the windows she saw it empty. She tried the latch and the door opened. Walking in the cottage she closed the door behind her and began to look around. She started a fire in the fireplace as the midwife had taught her. She looked around and found some fruit on the table and ate until she was full. She became sleepy and walked to the other room and found seven small beds. She laid down across the four beds and fell asleep.

A violent sneeze broke the silence and startled the girl awake. Looking around she saw seven pairs of eyes looking at her.

“Do not be afraid.” One set of eyes said.

“Yes, please do not be afraid." The other voices said in unison.

“Who are you?” She asked.

“We are the one’s who dwell within.” One voice said.

With lamps being lit she was able to count seven little men looking at her. They were very short, and harmless looking.

“My name is Doc. I’m in charge.” Doc said.

“My name is Sneezy, and this is Dopy.” Sneezy said introducing himself and the man next to him.

“My name is Happy, the one hiding behind me is Bashful, and the one standing in the corner over there is Grumpy.”

“What cute little men!” She said clapping her hands.

“Shows what she knows, we are dwarves!” Grumpy shouted.

“Please do not make me leave. The Queen will be after me. Please let me stay. Please.” She begged.

The dwarves gathered around each other and whispered to each other about her fate. Doc finally turned to face her and said, “We will allow you to stay for as long as you wish.” Seeing her overjoyed they had a feast and made merry that night.

The days and the nights passed for a long time. She made their lives easier by cooking for them and cleaning during the days and she told them stories at night. They all lived happily believing that the Queen would never find them.

One night when the delicious dinner was finished, and everyone was sleeping, Doc was awakened by noise outside the cottage. He quietly woke everyone to investigate the noise. Armed with clubs they headed towards the door while the girl was to remain in her bed. Something rattled the latch on the cottage door. They gathered their strength ready to fight when the door was kicked in and tall men covered in black armor rushed in the room and the girl began screaming and all the lamps went out.

Doctor Russell

Daily Report for patient # 75543255A

Report/Interview # 2232

Report Date: 02/25/2023

Patient Name: Sara Lydell

Patient Date of birth: 12/13/1997

*IMPORTANT DETAILS*: Name Patient will respond to is Snow White

Doctor’s Narrative: Patient’s condition remains stable; she responds well to medication with limited side effects. Patient continues to thrive well while institutionalized. Patient eats well during meals and has a proper BMI (Body Mass Index). Patient attends all therapy sessions with her group and one-on-one sessions. However, after all progress, the patient is still at a loss with reality. She still has no grasp of her real name (Sara Lydell identity established by court and through the process of finger printing from birth records) nor will she respond to any name other than Snow White.

Patient while suffering from PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) from living as a kidnapped child in a house of horrors with other kidnapped children. Following the narrative that Ms. Lydell tells of her past living circumstances, mimics the Snow-White tale that was told to her from an older child.

The “Evil Queen” Jenna (last name redacted) was the “house mother” who kept all the children in the house who were later falsely adopted or sold at an underground black-market auction. Those that were not adopted as children would later be sold into sex slavery or murdered (as supported by supplemental police reports and court testimony).

The “Midwife” Carol (last name redacted) was a woman who portrayed herself as a licensed Neo-Natal Nurse to gain access to the hospital when the pregnant women who was under surveillance by the group would be rushed to the hospital to give birth. Carol would gain admittance to the newborn babies and kidnap the healthy child from the hospital and take the child to the “house mother.” Carol “marks” the child by cutting the bottom of the child’s foot for identification for the group and it is assumed to ensure that later identification using birth records will be made impossible should the child escape.

The creature(s) known as “Bog” (AKA BOSS) were sentinel guards who were placed outside the door where the children were stored. The children were under 24-hour guard to ensure there were no escapes. To ensure the children would make no connections to the guards, the guards wore Halloween masks that were of different monster creatures. The children were to call the guards “BOSS” some smaller children would say “Bog.”

The day of Sara’s escape, many children were sick and the bathroom facilities normally used for the children were taxed and the guard allowed Sara to leave confinement to use an upstairs bathroom and Sara saw and overheard the “The Queen” speaking on a cellphone via video call to an unknown male (still unidentified) who relayed to the “The Queen” Sara had to be destroyed due to her being a drain on resources and no interest that would benefit the group. It was then Sara overheard she would be killed. For reasons unknown the guard who was tasked with killing Sara in a vacant lot where other children (deceased) have been recovered, allowed her to escape.

Sara made her way to an occupied house about 2 miles away from her escape location, broke in and lived in the house of Mr. and Mrs. Knott for two weeks while they were out of the country. Upon the couple returning home, seeing the empty house appeared to be occupied, the Knott’s called the police to report a break in. The police apprehended Sara and following a short investigation and finding the state of Sara and her lack coherency she was later transported to St. Marks hospital and committed to the Mental health ward.

The ”Seven Dwarves” are a part of Sara’s personality based on her confinement, maltreatment, and suffering from PTSD, her personality has fractured, and she has created these personalities to help her cope with her circumstances and also to keep herself company while she was alone after being around other children and young adults for her entire life.

Doctor’s Recommendations: Sara is to remain on current medication regimen, current group therapy sessions, and follow up one on one therapy sessions. Sara is to remain in the custody of St. Mark’s mental health ward until she is fully recovered. Visitation with her birth parents will remain on a twice-a-month basis until sufficient improvement has been made by Sara to warrant more frequency.
