Sarah and Ty were married and expecting their second child. They had a beautiful little girl already. It had been seven years since they married and they were both so happy and grateful for this pregnancy.

Sarah was determined to not take anything or do anything that could hurt the baby, so she stopped drinking and using drugs and she quit smoking cigarettes. Sarah smoked 2.5-3 packs of cigarettes a day before getting pregnant.

She felt sick during most of her pregnancy. She was not well her entire pregnancy and believed it was due to her not smoking. She wanted to smoke a cigarette but felt like she was doing the right thing. She wanted their child to be healthy.

The time came for Sarah to go to the hospital to deliver their second baby. He was so large the doctor thought he may have been twins, but she was not told that was a concern during her entire pregnancy.

Sarah could not believe it and the doctor told her that even if it is not a twin, then your baby was very large. The doctor ordered an x-ray and Sarah was right, no twins.

She was having a big baby. Her doctor decided to transfer Sarah to a bigger town to deliver her baby. Everything worked out fine and Sarah and Ty were so grateful to be taking their little boy home with them.

After Sarah was home and settling in, she decided she wouldn't go back to smoking cigarettes but she would smoke marijuana with Ty. They smoked and all of a sudden Ty said, "Sarah, the baby is not breathing!" "What do you mean the baby isn't breathing?" replied Sarah.

Tye handed Sarah the baby. Sarah handed the baby back and then it was back and forth with each voice getting louder and louder and as they passed the baby, they were moving out of the door.

The neighbor heard the noise and asked what the problem was and she was told their baby was turning blue and could she call the ambulance. Vivian said, run him to the hospital. Just as soon as Vivian said that Sarah took the baby and started to run!

When she got to the hospital, which was not even a block from their house, their baby was breathing! How could that be asked, Sarah? She was happy that was the case but had never been so scared in all of her life.

That was the very worst minute of their life. For years they remembered that time in the yard when the neighbor told her to run him to the hospital and how in doing that he started to breathe again. How does that work they would try to figure it out.

Every time they had a conversation they would remember how they almost lost their baby. They were so grateful that Ty had picked him up after they finished smoking. Sarah never smoked marijuana after that experience as it was so scary.

Even though the mother after giving birth gave up cigarettes and began marijuana smoking at least they had sense to take the baby to the hospital. Glad for the happy ending and good story.
