Reluctant Forgiveness

a dancer's anger

The warm summer night outside the Emerald's Flesh Palace was sultry with banked anticipation from the crowd waiting to enter. Word had gotten out that the reclusive star was to perform, something she has rarely done lately since her marriage and all the drama that followed. Could it have been the rumors that something may have happened to her rival over at the newer Jewel club ?

A sigh filtered from the main dressing room decorated in accents of ruby and jade. A huge mirror magnified the room and showed the figure sitting behind it, brush in hand as it slowly runs through long red hair. Her voice carries out into the hall asking for two glasses of wine. One glance over her costume for the evening as she smirks thinking of her so called competition. Footsteps approached her door then paused as a giggles sounded outside of it.

A single nail tapped impatiently against the make-up desk before she called out " Tere , bring your ass in here and quit flirting with my staff." The door opened and a girl walked in with a roll of her expressive brown eyes and a mischievous grin. "Em, I was not flirting..... much besides your staff needs to laugh sometimes." Tere giggled and settled gracefully on the couch beside the door and watched Em for a few minutes waiting for the questions to start. Emerald or Em, just shook her head placing the brush down on the vanity then stared at her adopted sister. Tere ducked her head to the side before standing and walking over to the window. Short tipped nails tapped against the pane, back straight as she felt the gaze of her big sister.

Counting to three before tipping her head and resting it against the pane, she breathed a sigh. "It's open tonight, you know? But it's not like you remember it Em. Jewel's doesn't do many featured dancers or strip dances anymore, now it is just a regular dance club. Why can't you forgive me for working there and here?" Emerald tapped her nails again on the vanity without a word before walking out to the stage heels clicking along the floor as she prepared herself mentally while digesting the words of her sister.

Tere stood at the window tears dripping silently down her face hearing the fading clicking of heels and then the start of Em's signature song as it filled the back hallways of the club along with the front dance area. Shaking herself then wiping the tears away, wandered into the front and sat at her seat on the high dais lining one wall of the palace.

She watched as Em dipped and shimmied teasing male and female alike as she stripped off the opulent gown and down to the silky sheer thong and garter belt. The thousand watt smile gracing Em's face as she moved through the crowd with teasing hands and promising moves causing the men to subtly adjust their groins and the women to shift a bit uncomfortably leaving wet seats behind. The music swelled and was reaching its crescendo when Tere stiffened in her seat as she spotted a face entering the doors amongst the crowd.

Short grey hair in a pixie cut topped a pair of sharp stern grey eyes that were staring back at Tere as she tried to sink down in her seat. The staccato beat of the music faded somewhat into the background as Tere watched Dee walk over to the stage and quirk her finger. With a quick shimmy and a bounce in her step Emerald leaned in for a deep kiss allowing her wife's hand to roam over her body. After a minute of two, she broke the kiss and tweaked the hard nipple brushing against her before gesturing for Em to continue dancing.
