She despised the mirror hanging on her bedroom wall. It always showed every flaw, every damn scar, all her fears. Simply stopping looking at into it was a formidable task. Jessie wanted to see if she had changed, if she had become someone else, someone better.

One night, she woke up to a loud splintering smashing noise. Jessie saw the mirror shatter into pieces, a dark figure emerge from the shards. It looked like her, but twisted and distorted. Smiling menacingly, reaching out for her.

Screaming, running for the door, it was locked. Trapped alone with her reflection.
