Episode 1

I released the Monster. So, what do Monsters do? They eat things. Why did I do it? Pure spite.

Drenching me, I sweat out every drop of water in my body. For the desert outside Tucson, Arizona, it was a virtual baptism, purifying me. All the bullshit was unimportant. The scales fell from my eyes. They had almost got me to kill myself.

They fired me. The M.S.G. (Missile System Group) had given me some explosives training for working in FACO (Final Assembly and Check Out.) Then they wanted me to fill out a form. It had twenty race questions. I thought that was a little out of line, so I checked all of them. They were not amused. I asked a workmate of mine if she was Hispanic or Latino. She laughed. My management scowled at me. Then it came to what is your green card number if you are a naturalized citizen. I thought to train non-citizens on our explosives at MSG was outrageous. My H.S.A. was green. It had the number 666 on it.

I said, "Hey, my green card number is 666. Should I put that down?"

Dean got upset that I said a green card number should be 666.

He said, "That is racist. I'm filing a complaint at H.R."

When I went to H.R., they asked, "Did you say that a green card number should be 666?"

I said, "Yes, I did. Why?"

They said, "Thank you for your honesty. We are terminating our relationship! Please leave."

Termination! Quite simply, I outproduced all of them by a significant amount. I made twelve units a day the most that they do a six a day. I made them look bad. They were always online. They are always out of their workstations, visiting with friends. I wondered how they got their jobs done. Then there was the girl who would not follow the Working Lead instructions. He would tell her that she needed to do some units. She refused and would only do the simplest job. Management took her to H.R., and they did nothing. Disobeying an order from a supervisor, that's fine. Say that a green card number should be 666. That's too much. They were always coming up with something to get me in trouble. I had a lot of stupid things on my record.

The time I was in H.R. because I made faces through a plastic sheet at them, outrageous. There were a significant number of times that things I said to a friend they took out of context. I would find myself in H.R. for something stupid. They would be indignant and say I had best not cause any more problems.

That is the way it went. Would my coworkers try harder to do their jobs? Hell no. They did character assassination. Much easier than working harder, and besides, it was much more fun.

It is so depressing. I went to the Saguaro National Monument, to the Brown Mountain picnic area. I locked the doors of my car and rolled up the windows. It did not take long for the temperature to rise in the vehicle. All too soon, I was sweating heavily. As I lay there, the voice said, how could you let them win. They think you are a nothing. Have no fear and show them. Release the Monster. A final act so the world would know that you had your revenge on them all. No one cares about you. Why care about any of them.

I would tell no one of my plans. I would place a series of bets. If I won, it would be a sign, and I would know. If I lost, I'd it was over.

I went to the roulette wheel at the Rio. The voice told me the numbers to bet. I won ten in a row, and they asked me to leave. I went to five casinos that night. I had a Hell of a lot of cash.

At the last casino, I was in, I got a room and spent the night. In the morning, I contacted a realtor. Asking for a big two- or three-story house, I picked the fourth one he showed me. The attic was over the entire place. No one would be able to see the mega tesla coil I would put in the house. It took me three months to get the wire and components I would need, and I constructed the behemoth Tesla coil into all the house floors. The house was now one giant tesla coil
