”Hello, is this Lost-in-Found?” a little boy’s voice asked.
“Yes, it is. What did you lose, sweetie?”
“My mommy.”
“When?”
“I don’t remember… She is kind, beautiful, and loves puppies.”
“You’re lucky! We’ve just found one mommy matching your description. Sending her your way...”
“Ben, are you calling Lost-&-Found again?” The orphanage director took the phone from the boy.
“Yes! They’ve found her!”
“That’s a cruel joke,” the director said into the phone, hanging up.
“Not a joke,” an angel replied, matching Ben’s file to an adoption application with a photo of a beautiful woman holding a puppy.
