Echo Team was relieved to pitch camp about one mile east of the cavelet discovered in the icy crevasse. Out of the wind behind a large hill they quickly assembled their tents and tied up the dogs.

Little discussion was made during the meager meal of beans, hardtack and jerky. Coffee was the only highlight. Tension was lighter now. Although the shadowy night was not. It was dense black in cloud covered skies and little moonlight was evident.

Another archaeologic dig helper, Damian, alerted the Echo Team when returning from a personal foray into the darkness to relieve himself. Damian reported to the dig director, Dr. Stonewell, about seeing a stone pile marker on the snow about an 1/8th of a mile further west of camp.

Cody replied, “We’ll check that out at first light, Damian, so lets all get some rest shall we? Thank you for letting us know about it.” He says, smiling and trying to look like nothing was odd about this strange stone pile.

Trudy wondered why they hadn’t noticed it on the way to find a good camping spot. This marker wasn’t there or we passed it by without seeing it in plain sight, she thought. A very odd feeling crept over her. Someone else was out here!
