When Persephone walked into the engine room, as she started to call it, everything had changed.

The seating area was now gone and the floor was open with a desk in the center, and a chairs to sit in. It was on a little platform that raised it up high enough to see through the front window of the train from a seated position. The platform sat on a rug, the desk on another, a chair on either side.

The view out was completely different from the one she saw upon arrival the day before. It was just as beautiful to her and she was even more eager to begin her studies. At that very moment, the door on the left of the room swooshed open and out came Hector. And Miss Mae entered through the main door carrying a tray.

"Good morning, Persephone!", they said in unison. Everyone laughed.

"Good morning Miss Mae, good morning Hector."

"Come! Have a seat. Miss Mae will bring you tea and biscuits." Hector said as he moved to the front of the train and stood between her and the window.

"Won't I have books? And paper, and pencils? I read about school in the libraries I used to hide in." Persephone asked.

"It is not that kind of school," Hector said with a wink.

Perspehone watched as a little dining table materialized just as Miss Mae set the tray down. Her eyes widened and her jaw dropped. She was speechless again. Oh the wonders!

Miss Mae brought her light breakfast to the desk and set it down. With one hand she reached up and gently closed Persephone's mouth.

Slowly, Persephone sipped her tea and nibbled her biscuit, pondering all sorts of magical things she was remembering, and all the ones that were to come.

Percy popped out of her pocket. He was more interested in the breakfast that was being served. He took a piece for himself, then settled back in Persephone's pocket to eat, then go back to sleep.

All of the adventure's they had been having had been a lot for his newly awakened consciousness, and he found that he was more hungry and sleepy than he had ever been before. He sleepily poked his head out, as if remembering to do something he had forgotten.

"Good morning Persephone! I can't wait to talk with you but I am so nap oriented these days. You don't mind, do you?" He said as he slipped back into the pocket and started to softly snore.

"I do not, sweet Percy," she whispered. " Sleep soundly my little friend."

She had just finished eating when Hector took the seat across from her.

"By now I am sure you have...questions." Hector said with smile, palms open, arms wide.

" Yes. I mean, no. I mean, questions are swirling in my head, and I cannot choose one to ask. There are so many you see, and yet somehow, none of them are moving to the fore and requiring my asking. Must I ask right now? Can we perhaps simply dive in?" Persephone smiled a hopeful smile, she raised her eyes to look into his, then over to Miss Mae.

Hector and Miss Mae shared a knowing look, silently communicating that yes, she was indeed what they had thought her to be: the most open and imaginative being they had found on Earth so far, and thereby the perfect first student for their fledgling school.

They looked back to Persephone and responded in unison," OF COURSE!"

"First, close your eyes." Hector and Miss Mae had raised their arms up and closed theirs. The energy started moving and flowing and right away Persephone perceived the change. She could feel it in her body like a gentle, electrical current continuously running just beneath her skin. She found herself relaxing and enjoying the sensation.

"Expand out." All of a sudden it was as if she was outside the train and immersed in all of the colors, stars, and could see all of the universe behind her closed eyes.

"Oh!" she exclaimed. She sighed at the beauty and when she heard Hector's voice asking her to open her eyes, she did so reluctanly.

Miss Mae was staring at her. "You, my dear, have quite the capacity with energy! This is going to be exciting. For all of us, I think."

"Agreed!" Hector boomed, and rose from his seat.

"Come! Let's go to the window" They stood there for what seemed like a nanosecond, yet an hour had passed.

"Tell me what you see." He whispered.
