The fishermen’s settlement seemed to be the last place until the end of the world. A pile of collapsed stone over the edge of the sea.

People were pulling poverty from the seashore to their homes and back. Or what was left of their homes that had been hit by an earthquake two years ago. All the houses had cracked walls, and some of them had no roofs. People were in the wind, rain, frost, and heavenly mercy.

Maria was a frail and silent girl.

Her parents had disappeared with a fishing boat during a storm.

She works on repairing fishing nets, cleaning boats, and other utensils needed by fishermen. For this, she receives food, fish, and sometimes a few pennies.

Her passion was drawing, and she dreamed that she could paint on canvas. The first drawing paper and pencils for drawing were bought from a locality four hours away on foot. She asked the seller if there was a place where drawings could be sold. That was the city, could find out more if she read a newspaper. Also had money to buy a newspaper and a book for learning to read.

After more than a year, she arrived in the city, sold almost twenty drawings, bought everything she needed to be able to paint, ate a cake and ice cream for the first time in her life.

She returned to the fishing village.

In that night, flew over the waves of the sea, competed with the bird of the sky, kissed the horizon, wanted to see the rainbow, and it appeared at her command, had not tasted happiness before.

He couldn't sleep. She will be painting the world. Like in her childhood, dark, windowless world. Or what her world will be like from now on. Will be painting a better world because he knew he could do it. A world born of the colors you see when you are in love.

After painting a canvas or two, would go to town to sell them.

She decided to prepare her own paints. Will use the pink sand on the beach, the phosphorescent mushrooms in the cave, the strange color of some plants growing in the forest. The wide range of colors offered by the swamp will be very useful.

After noticing that Maria no longer repairs the fishing nets, no longer cleans the boats, the fishermen said that she is a prostitute.

When they saw that she often went to the city, they were even more convinced of it, and they did not hesitate to say even in the presence of Maria, that she was a prostitute.

Some didn’t even talk to her anymore, many looked back when they saw her, others even spat in her face.

Maria painted and went to the city to sell her paintings.

After using the pink color of the sand, the phosphorescent color of the mushrooms, and the rest of the colors prepared by herself, the madness began.

It was first noticed in the city by the owner of an art gallery. Then journalists, followed by international art galleries.

The media had not reached the fishermen’s settlement, who still called her prostitute.

It had been several years since they had seen her.

One day, dozens of trucks loaded with construction materials and many construction workers came to the fishermen’s settlement.

In the beginning, new houses were built for each family in the fishing village.

After these houses were completed, a small ceremony took place.

People were informed that their settlement was bought by a large company that will build shops; they will have sewerage, electricity, and much more.

In the end, they were also told that from now on their settlement has become a city and will have a name.

Their city will be called “Brothel”.
