The last goodbye ever uttered, was the most meaningful.

Darkness slushed onto her illuminate bare feet as she gazed helplessly onto a crumbling utopia dying before it had a chance to be called a home. Wake of the void would have sent a glacial shot of pain to her brain, but her mind was too numb to notice. She began to produce a tear.

At least something was being born today.

If it weren’t for her and her 41 companions’ negligence to a needful planet, they would have seen another dawn for many millennia to come. Their objective: to cultivate a perfect world for the perfect species.

They failed.

    This is an excellent little story. You really feel the emotion from the lost cause. Using a character as a central point to feel that is inspired! Well done!
