She examines herself in the mirror, questioning her outfit. She fluffs up her curly hair and exhales. "I shouldn't be so nervous about this date!" she whispers before leaving the bathroom.

She rechecks the time before heading across town to meet the guy she's been talking to for a month. Their conflicting schedules and COVID have prevented them from having a proper date.

They talk from morning till night and haven't missed a day yet. She smiles to herself as the butterflies flutter in her stomach.

Upon arriving, she carefully parks her vehicle in the driveway and promptly notifies him of her arrival. With a welcoming expression, he greets her warmly, embracing her with a hug and a sincere smile.

Emotions rush through her veins as she inhales his scent. The gentle embrace feels like a long-awaited reunion between two souls who have finally found their mate.

A year has passed since their first date, and now she smiles while glancing at the man she loves. He returns her gaze and playfully kisses her hand.

"I love you," she whispered with a smile. She couldn't ask for more: a man who loved her and her son, whom she never thought anyone would accept.

Gazing through the window, she takes a moment to reflect on the blessings in her life. Appreciation swells within her for her loving partner and child as she eagerly anticipates their future happiness.

She knows that life is unpredictable, but for now, she will continue to enjoy the beautiful moments and hold tight to the memories they make—one year full of love, laughter, and many more to come.
