A side story from “In The Ashes of Forgiveness”

The air was so thick that became near excruciating. The soft clouds covered like a barrier most of the sky which was now painted in a mix of orange and violet gradate. This was a place devoid of life; a dirt-colored region with mountains of various shapes and heights standing like buildings.

In the space between these, the muddy road lead to a glorious castle-like structure that was several meters tall and was big enough to house an entire army.

After the metallic sound of the giant door slamming into the ground echoed in the mountainous area, two figures could be seen standing in front of it.

“Venye has already departed with her Dwelgin for Aeldrutia, right boss?”

A tall, bald man with a silver circle pierced on his tongue and ear addressed in a squeaky, crow-like voice the man beside him. The tips of the black choker he was wearing, which was zig-zag shaped, felt like it was piercing his long neck.

“It is only natural given the chaos it has erupted there, Regaz. Our troops have done a great deal this time. Remind me to honor the ones that will return gracefully.”

The man with the long, pitch-black hair who seemed like he was in his late 30s answered Regaz in a deep and confident voice. His clothing had a tiny back pocket that held his medium-size scythe.

“How come our almighty leader Dopax takes this trip to the front lines thought?”

“I just want a front-row seat for this.”

“Then let’s hurry boss, before Venye and her Dwelgin destroy them all. Hehe!”

At these words, both men kicked the ground and marched at an incredible speed toward the fiery smoke in the distance.

“Fuahahahahaa!”

A loud laugh was heard along with the crushing sound of two buildings colliding with each other.

“I LOVE letting loose once in a while!”

The woman standing in front of the rubbles spoke so in a crazy voice. Her hands were covered with a set of metallic fists fitting their shape perfectly as her light lilac jacket was now filled with red stains. Her brown, fuzzy hair was getting in her face and covered her right crimson eye entirely.

“Milady, I know you adore fighting, but please be careful and not bring down our troops as well.”

The girl’s ginger curtain-like hair was reflecting the bright light the surrounding flames exerted. Her attire consisted of a hair clip made by Topaz [temperature altering] and a blue-grey dress as well as black leggings painted with a golden line on their sides.

“Silgy! Your plan was brilliant so it doesn't matter. I get to fight at long last! HAHA!”

“Still, try to be more patient and careful, Heilig and Isshos are bound to send reinforcements soon. And given the size of our attack, they won’t be a joke.”

“BRING THEM AAALL! I will tear them to pieces.”

Venye smashed her hands on the ground and it suddenly shifted like an elastic band and hit the two people rushing at them. Silgy, jumped high, grabbed their heads, and increased their temperature till they both got fried before they landed heavily on the ground.

Then, Silgy lifted herself and looked in Venye’s direction. Suddenly, a stream of water flushed at Venye’s back at incredible speed. Silgy, noticing it, let out a loud noise that evaporated the attack.

“You alright, Milady?”

“Wouldn’t be able to scratch me anyway. BUT, nice one Silgy.”

Two men showed their faces in front of Venye and Silgy. One was obviously wielding an Aquamarine and the other one seemed to have a grass-colored gemstone in his bracelet.

“I can understand the water guy, but what is a nature-wielding one doing in a place like this? And they call me crazy!”

“Think of that again.”

At the man’s voice, a violent air current lashed out toward Venye. Silgy let out a scream again while Venye touched herself and jumped at an incredible height.

“Milady! It’s a Fluorite [wind manipulation] user! We need to get close to him fast!”

“TSCH. Messing up my fun aren’t you?”

Venye then touched herself again and threw her left foot toward the two men's position. Both, seeing the attack coming, dodged quickly left and right and Venye smashed the ground they were in with immense power, making a small crater as a result.

She then kicked the ground in an instant and threw herself with a superhero kind of punch toward the Fluorite user. However, she halted just before a water jet stream hit her from underneath while air daggers were formed above her ready to strike.

“That won’t work for you well.”

Silgy screamed violently toward the air arrows getting them out of place in the process. Venye was prepared for that and answered by smashing her right fist on the ground, making it deform and act in a rubber-like fashion.

That threw out of position the Aquamarine user behind her as well as hit the guy in front of her and tossed him in the air.

“NOW, Silgy!”

Silgy shouted “YES” while a soundwave stream was let out at her voice, piercing the Fluorite user’s stomach, making a hole in it.

“One of their bosses is here! We need backup! We need ba — ”

After screaming in a despaired-filled voice, Venye jumped toward him and buried his head in the dirt with her right fist.

“Shut your mouth! Next time, think before you mess with ones you can’t even TOUCH!”

Venye, with a smile filled with satisfaction on her face, waved her right hand to throw the blood from the guy’s face into the ground as if trying to clean her metallic equipment.

“Milady, we’ve got a problem. Their reinforcements seem to have arrived. We should retreat immediately.”

“NOW? But the fun starts NOW, Silgy!”

“I can understand you are pumped up, but it seems they have large numbers in which we both don’t know their capabilities nor powers. It’s dangerous to fight with minimal information here.”

Venye clicked her tongue and turned her back from the crowd that was currently marching toward her position.

“SHIT. And we were getting to the good stuff. Anyway, I’ve had my fill for tonight, so let’s go regroup with Dopax and Regaz and see what we can do.”

“Sounds like a plan, Milady.”

After Venye touched herself and Silgy, they both kicked the ground and jumped really high to get far away to the cliffs standing before the flaming city.
