One of the branches reached out and typed code. The other trees watched as the amount lines began to double, then triple. The roots of the tree began to type up the letters.

It made a simple line of code transparent. The clarity was akin to spring water from a brook. It took time for the other trees to realize just what this tree wanted to say.

They were familiar with people chaining themselves to them and literally hugging them. The tree showed a screen that told it all. In bold print it read, “SAVE YOURSELVES.” Then, a hush fell.
