Newtons Cradle
A look into the future

If I could promise you the world gets better in the future, I would. Unfortunately, I cannot promise that because I would be lying. My name is Nola, and the year is 2836. The world as you knew it has been destroyed and mostly abandoned. The only ones inhabiting Earth now are the last of the full-blooded human race… That is roughly about 82,000 humans left completely in the whole universe. About 30 minutes ago the Galactic army took 20,000 of them to be used as lab rats… but what they do not know is My team and I have rescued 6,000 of them and placed them on a secure smaller planet outside this solar system, in hopes they never find them. I wish we could save more, losing them is like losing a part of myself but unfortunately it is very dangerous, caught escorting humans out of earth is a death sentence… Literally…
In the early 2100s, an extraterrestrial civilization that claimed to be the Galactic Founders befriended almost all governments in the world by trading their knowledge of advanced technology to get them to hand over humans for them to be tested on in their underground labs on mars. After 100 years had passed the Galactic Founders civilization talked the governments into letting them mix their DNA with human DNA by sending it through, what was supposed to be, a mild airborne virus throughout the world. Unfortunately, the virus reacted differently to some humans, killing off the old and the sick. Some even went crazy destroying towns, states, and countries with fire. The United States government went to war with other countries because they where secretly making deals with the Galactic Founders to be first with any new technologies. One of the advanced technologies they gained allow our brains to be connected to a server that downloads our consciousness when we die and sends it to a remote planet for safe keepings for future reincarnation.
Majority of humanity never got to meet the Galactic Founders, but they did have to adapt to life with half human, half extraterrestrial people since the virus did work on a big proportion of humans. It had to work, or I would not be here… The remainder of the years until now where pretty devastating, people started lashing out because they did not consent to this. Slowly but surely the governments and the economy fell to dust. In the mists of all that, something bigger was coming. Another, much bigger, extraterrestrial civilization found out about this contract between the humans and the GF. They call themselves Supreme beings, and once they got word of this, they responded with war.
I am not 100% sure why they completely freaked out, but it must be a very big reason why they did not want us evolving together. Which leads us to now, where I am currently in the great pyramid of Giza trying to retrieve a marble shaped ball that is believed to be apart of Newtons Cradle, a large pendulum puzzle that is told to solve all the problems of the universe. Our war with SB has caused thousands of other societies in multiple galaxies to go to battle with each other. If we do not fix this no one will… While in space my team and I came across a piece of a planet that had been destroyed and was floating around. We did a little digging on it and found a journal that belonged to a man named Woodrow. In the journal there are encrypted messages that once decoded tale of Newtons Cradle and how there are four other planets besides earth that each have this marble ball hidden in detailed remote places.
This is the only hope left before the universe collapses in chaos. Well, we are here at the great pyramid of Giza right now making our way through the cringy traps to hopefully prove this legacy true. Sadly, we only have one hour left before SB blows Earth to bits… This sounds crazy but if you would have seen the things we have, you would understand…
All I can hear is rock slowly breaking around us as we walk quickly through the mazes. With the journal in my hand acting as a map, we should be there in no time. We all follow closely behind one another trying to make sure everyone is safe. I did not expect this place to have so many traps. The beautiful hieroglyphics on the walls crumble at your fingertips when touched. Its hard to know that soon all the history from our human ancestors is about to be erased… Heading down the tunnels we hear a loud boom that shook the floor. We all stopped and glanced at each other then quickly started light jogging, by the sound we only had minutes before this place collapsed burying us all along with it. “This way, it should be at the end of this tunnel” I said. The further we went, the more the walls cracked. It was like the structure new we were there and did not want us to be. We reached the end, but it was just a blank rock wall. “One of these rocks move and the marble should be behind it!” I said frantically. Another very small hieroglyph is slightly glowing from the right lower corner of the room. The image on the wall is the same image in the journal. “This must be it” I said while pushing the rock in and as soon as I did the rock moved back and a small wooden chest emerged. This is the moment of truth… Is this journal correct? Are we on our way to fixing the universe? I thought to myself. We stood in silence as I lifted the lid. A small glowing green and blue ball identical to earth stared us all in the faces. Everyone lit up with excitement and relief. I stepped back and my foot activated a trap.
More rocks started crumbling and the walls started closing. “RUN!” I yelled. The walls are moving extremely fast. “Almost their guys! Go! Go! Go! I said as we were running. I turned around and pulled the last person from the claws of death. “Oh no!” I screamed “HELP!” The heart-shaped locket around my neck that my grandmother gave to me was now crushed in between the walls and my neck was up to it. Everyone started yanking at the chain. The moment I was released we took off as fast as we could back through the way we came in. Once outside we realized there were only 15 minutes left to get off this planet before it exploded. We ran through the desert as fast as we could with everyone helping each other out. If someone stumbled, we picked them up. No one is to be left behind…
We finally made it to the spaceship, everyone quickly fastened their seats, and we began takeoff. As soon as we reached earths atmosphere a huge explosion forced us further into space. When we finally came to a stop no one wanted to say what they were thinking. But I am pretty sure it has something to do with the earth being gone. I spoke aloud “We have to retrieve the other four marbles from the other planets.” And so, we set sail on our spaceship on a journey to fix the universe…
