Never Kiss a Vampire in December

A winter warning wrapped in fangs and poetry. When the snow falls, he comes — cold, romantic, and deadly.

Winter has a way of making monsters look beautiful. This poem is for anyone who ever mistook cold lips for love. A tale of warning... and surrender.

Never Kiss a Vampire in December

By Elizabeth Baez

Don’t kiss him.

Even if he swears he no longer bites,

even if he trembles beneath the snowfall

like a lost boy

without a grave or time.

Don’t kiss him,

if his lips are cold as iron

and his eyes stare

as if you were the last song

he remembers from the world.

December suits him well.

It masks his absence as warmth,

his death as romance.

But his soul...

is still hungry.

Don’t kiss him,

when he tells you he loves you.

Vampires don’t lie,

but their love

is the name of the wound.

And if you already did…

if you already kissed him…

may God protect you,

because it’s far too late

to pray.
