Never Again
Well, until next time, that is
“Bartender, hit me up. Make it neat and keep them coming. I’m celebrating.”
Whisky is my passion, my soul mate, my best friend and my confidante.
Together we paint this town red and all who tag along, find themselves having the party of their life.
Strangers become the best of mates.
Until, that is, we all wake up the next day and we wake in a serious pool of regret.
Me!
I’m not much good to anyone for the next 24 hours. I can’t do much more than nurse this horrendous hangover I’m trying to survive, while promising ‘never again.’
This drabble has been written as part of the daily Drabble Drop challenge and today's random word, that must be included in the drabble, is 'nurse'.
Wikipedia defines a drabble as follows :
A drabble is a short work of fiction of precisely one hundred words in length. The purpose of the drabble is brevity, testing the author's ability to express interesting and meaningful ideas in a confined space.

My first love is poetry — it’s like a desperate need to write, to free up space in my mind, to escape the constant noise in my head. Most of the time the poems write themselves — I’m just the conduit holding the metaphorical pen.
