Monstrosity

inner desires unleashed (Epic Beginnings Challenge)

By Savannah K. WilsonPublished 2 years ago Updated 2 years ago 1 min read

People call me a monster, they saw what I did, what I became … what I literally became. They screamed, grabbed hold of their children and ran screaming from me, and they should.

I am a monster.

When I found that vial of strange ooze in the trash, the same day I got fired from my job as a garbage man, I decided to try and sell it. It cracked open and spilled on me, I thought I was going to die, I was so sick for days. When I recovered, I slowly discovered I could transform, shape-shift, whatever it’s called, into anyone, and anything I wanted.

The first night I used my powers to rob an armoured car for a few million dollars, simply walking in as one of the guards, walking out before the original returned. From there it grew, the desire to do whatever I wanted without consequence. Soon theft turned to violent attacks on people I had grudges with, like my former boss, I beat him with a baseball bat while appearing to be his own son. The authorities have two conflicting CCTV records, it’s hilarious to watch.

Then came the more sinister desires, becoming someone else and assaulting women and men whenever I felt physical urges. Becoming wild animals and tearing people apart with my mouth and claws. Any desire was now possible, nothing was beyond me, any fantasy could become reality.

Now, as I rampaged through this shopping mall with an axe, hacking and slicing people that were within my reach, while in someone else’s form. People ran, they screamed. One woman jumped in the way of a mother and her baby, allowing herself to be hacked open instead of them.

So yes, I am what they say I am …
