DISCLAIMER: This was originally it's own story, but I felt inspired to illustrate it using the sims 4 photos.

She wished she could rewind time.

"I don't believe that our meeting was by chance," Mrs. Ganz, the filmmaking and homeroom teacher of class 3-A of the Arts Department went on to say. "During summer break many of you will see many new sights and new people, your homework for the summer will be writing about it. What did you learn over the summer? How did it make you feel?"

Class was nearly over when she decided to spring upon her students some last-minute homework.

As much as Merida loved this class she couldn't help feeling gloomier and gloomier by the second. See the thing was, she had plans. How fun would this project have been if everything played out like she imagined?

Merida had been planning out a group vacation for her friends for months when they all dropped the bomb on her during lunch.

Holding up a compact mirror to her mouth, Madisonia Tchaikovsky picked out the tiny bits of lettuce stuck in her braces, "Can't, I'll be in Novosibirsk visiting extended family."

"Novo-what?"

"Russia. I'll be visiting my family in Russia."

"O-oh."

The statement left Merida speechless, after all the two of them have been best friends since freshman year! She never had anything to do aside from staying at home and making sailor moon memorabilia- mostly sweaters, toys and plush dolls for her online store, when she wasn't she was playing otome games and watching anime at Merida's place.

Everyone else was the same. Even the new girl, Aoifei had plans.

"Small world! My Grandma lives there so my whole family's going there too!"

Madisonia blushed, most likely recalling that it meant Aoifei's older brother would also be going. "Maybe we can meet up later to hang out?"

Merida never liked the new girl too much so hearing that she'd be vacationing with her best friend made her deeply worried.

She had been down this road before, what if they become super close and Aoifei became her new best friend? Who would stay up night with her to watch her favorite netfix shows and k-dramas?

More importantly, what would she do over summer break? She could visit the theatres alone for her school project but what else after? What was summer vacation without loved ones to spend it with?

Straight A scholarship student, Alicia Rivers held up her hand.

"Um, this is just me but having to document my summer vacation with a camera makes me feel.... less present, is it okay if we write about it instead?"

Mrs. Ganz hummed.

Straight A scholarship student Madeline Devereux scoffed. "It's not even a hard assignment just take short videos or pictures and string them together with voice audio."

Alicia gave her a pointed look.

In the back, straights A scholarship delinquent student Baozhai Nie widened her eyes. "Not all of us are loaded enough to possess cameras and video editing software okay?"

Madeline blinked. "That's true...smart phone cameras make me want to burn off my face." She bit back her smile and covered it with her hand. "Oops, I forgot. I'll also be interning over the summer."

"That's right," Alicia said eyeing both her and Baozhai oddly. "All residents of Charity Palace Dorms will be interning, we'll have to get permissions from our employers to film."

"It's okay."

"Is that so? Well you don't have to film at work, you can film yourself when you return home. You can also borrow some of our cameras, make sure you sign up and write down your name on the clipboard... the rec center will be open, the library also has free software you can use." Mrs. Ganz wasn't budging at all.

Baozhai sunk in the back of her chair grumbling. "Not only are we ladled with work we have to make time to come to school TO work on this? This is a nightmare. Why did I think I'd finally be able to take it easy?"

Overhearing their conversation, Merida began to feel tense. Forget about making memories with friends, should she also be building her resume? She planned to start building it in her senior year but these guys were early! And with no plans she might as well get a job right? But what if it was too late?

Oh crap. Oh crapocrapocrap!

The bell wrung and Merida's stress was rising by the second. She clumsily gathered her things to leave.

She left the classroom only to get pulled from behind.

Ferdinand Maloughney squeezed in between her fingers to say. "Let's start the summer with positive vibes, Meri."

Her mind went blank for a second before her annoyance loaded in.

Ferdinand Maloughney, a close frienemy she made in her sophomore year, ever since he started hanging out with kids like Riku Noh and Baozhai Nie his temperament and attitude became abrasive, cold, and at times completely random. They made peace whenever they were assigned to the same group projects but if she saw him on the streets he'd probably give her the middle finger or ignore her waving at him altogether.

She'd be lying if the latter didn't scar her, especially since her older twin sister and past friends did the same.

Merida's mind pulled a blank with her preoccupied mind. "What? A-and why are you touching me?" More importantly why did the fact that his touch relax her for a few seconds? The thought raised her annoyance meter immensely especially with Riku's stare boring holes into her body.

"There. Anyone tell ya you look the most beautiful when you're angry? Don't be all mopey and sad, it's ugly. Doesn't suit'chya."

"Haaaah?!" The words coming out his mouth were so ridiculous, she couldn't even process a comeback.

"Don't miss me over the summer break too much," he patted her shoulder as he released her. "I'll be back."

"WHOTHEHECKWOULD MISS YOU? HOW CONCEITED CAN YOU BE?! MORE IMPORTANTLY DON'T CREEP UP AND TOUCH ME LIKE THAT EVER AGAIN! IT'S FREEEEEAKING WEEEEEEIIIIIRD!"

Everyone in the hallway stared, Merida's voice got stuck in her throat. He was always making her look crazy. This, she wouldn't miss!

He spoke slowly. "I just wanted to say goodbye."

"Don't be like that it's super weird! If you want to say bye, then say bye! Did Riku dare you to touch me or something? Were you picking my pockets?!" She checked her hands. "Were you rubbing something gross on me?"

Riku didn't even attempt to defend himself. In fact he never said anything. He was the second most frustrating to deal with.

Ferdinand smiled but he didn't offer any explanation either. "How old are you? What else would a man touching a woman mean?"

Truly vexing.

Merida sucked in air, her body trembling as she tried to calm herself. She closed her eyes only to open them once more to breathe, "I hate you."

"Sorry to hear that."

"I hope your illness gets better over the summer."

"But you're more screwed up than me."

Merida's forced smile faded.

Seeing that his smile widened exposing his sharp canines like the bloodsucker he truly was. "Enjoy your vacation, Meri. Just know you haven't seen the last of me."

"Whatever, bye. Where are you even going for summer vacation?"

"Somewhere, why?"

"I wanted to know which place NOT to go to."

"Uh-huh."

He walked off with Riku in tow and Merida just watched him trembling, she exhaled and held her chest.

"You done flirting over there?"

"HUH?!" She whipped her head to see the sister-stealing, Cybele Mcguire of the Athletic department smiling with her arms folded.

"Wha-what're you talking about? Flirting? More importantly what are you doing here?"

"Well, we came here to get you because Marina ran into Nicholas. So I told her to wait outside while I came and get you instead."

Merida blinked a couple of times.

"Wait what?"

Once upon a time, Marina had a boyfriend named Nicholas. They were the talk of the campus, until the day he dumped her for no reason. Marina's paranoia got the better of her, she convinced herself he must've been cheating. Ever since then it's been a bit hard for Merida to talk to her twin. Ever since then. Marina lost it whenever he saw Nicholas breathing near other girls.

"What're you guys going to do over the summer?" Cybele asked.

"Hm? Wasn't Marina going with you?"

"No." Cybele's eyes widened at her. "I have a family reunion in Atlanta."

Another family reunion?

Merida instinctively frowned. It was nice to know her twin was in the same position as her at least. Maybe finally the two would be able to hang out together like before she became popular?

A cumulonimbus cloud hung over Marina's head as she waited outside with her arms folded.

"We're heeeere!" Cybele cheerfully called out.

"You okay?" Merida knew full well it was a dumb question to ask but she couldn't think of anything else.

Marina stood and huffed, her turquoise eyes pointed at her but she seemed distracted. "Sure, let's go."

As the two walked home, Merida snuck some glances at her.

"I'm fine." Marina must've felt her gaze.

"I know you're not. Why... do you let him get to you so much?"

". . ." Merida could feel a bolt of thunder going off as Marina shot her a glare. "It's not like you've ever loved anyone before so you wouldn't understand!... Can I just have some silence?"

". . .Okay." Merida trailed behind as her twin walked down the street.

They're twins, they're supposed to be twins but they have nothing in common at all. Merida was a soprano, an artistic child with a passion for theatre, while Marina was a surfer, she liked dancing with strangers on the beach and was good at anything that involved athleticism and handiness.

She distracted herself by keeping her eyes on the stones lining the sidewalk. But when a small white mazda in the driveway caught her attention she overtook her sister by breaking out into a full-on sprint.

She flung the front door open, following the faint sound of voices and an elegant coffee scent.

"Nalani?!"

A girl with a reddish tan and messy reddish-orange hair the same as Merida's sat at the kitchen table, nibbling on some black tortilla chips instead of the plate Merida's Mom placed on the table.

"Hm?" Her grey eyes gravitated to the door where Merida stood.

A big smile tore across Merida's face.

BLOOPERS:

When summoned Madalene wasn't wearing pants

She was wearing a skirt, but it was modded, modded clothing gets taken off during updates, it comes back when you turn mods on but sometimes they don't. I hate it when it happens because I forget what they were wearing originally. But when I saw this, it was funny. Also Baozhai's pose at the time was perfect so I had to share this.

INTRODUCTIONS:

Still a mystery to me.

Not sure whether I should give them their own segment or not, stay tuned.
