"Was there ever that one thing you thought would complete you?" She asked him, swallowing the lump in her throat. Hoping beyond hope that he would say "You"
He didn't. He said, "My car is pretty damn special, what's that one thing for you?"
"Before that answer, I would have said You."
It was his turn to swallow the lump in his throat.
"I'm sorry, I didn't think of that" he replied, nervously cracking his knuckles.
"That's the first correct thing you have said in this relationship! Have fun with your car! It's a Miata for Christ's sake, goodbye!"
