“No, this one is purple. The last one was pink,” insisted Greta pointing to the small brick marker.

“The sun is setting, it just looks darker now,” said Jo with a hint of panic.

Above the crumbling half wall, the sun was setting. The sky shifted from a burning orange to a muted violet.

Out of their peripheral vision, they both saw a hint of movement. Something was watching them from around the corner.

“Remember to go for the throat,” hissed Jo, tightening her grip on her spear.

“I love you,” whispered Greta.

Jo blinked back tears and lunged forward.
