The couple walked the black carpet. The Marie Maynard Daly Prizes took on a certain mystique at the Waterfront in Wilmington, Delaware. Both had been recipients before and both had been nominated and been awarded again.

“This, I would say, is going to be the best night of our lives…again!” Steward Barclay said to his wife Latia.

“Do you know how much history is going to be made tonight. We’re the only ones with two Daly Prizes. It’s unheard of. And your speech about the molecular structure of certain isotopes of carbon to help support the fossil fuel industry!” Barclay encouraged.
