I remember walking these plains, lifetimes ago; I feel it in my bones.
I used to walk, 12 feet tall and miles in a day. My long coat kept out the worst of the cold, but dangers were all around...
Long-fanged cats stalked our young, and the very ground would swallow us. Humans too were dangerous.
So it was, one year, we crossed a frozen pond.
I'd fallen through thinner ice; I couldn't pull myself back out. And so my life ebbed away, beholden to the ice.
Now I walk these plains again. But this time, I'm on two feet.
About the Creator
Megan Baker (Left Vocal in 2023)
A fun spin on her last name, Baker enjoyed creating "Baker's Dozen" lists for various topics! She also wrote candidly about her mental health & a LOT of fiction. Discontinued writing on Vocal in 2023 as Vocal is a fruitless venture.
