The name is Ceez, and this is the Veil; in between fantasy and reality. Most of us believe it’s all fake, movies and fairytale bullshit; it’s not. I’d say I'm one unlucky bastard but it depends on who you’re asking. After all, I should be dead.
How'd I get here? I saw something I shouldn’t have, a demon walking out of a bar. Beelzebub in all his glory, ya know? And well, Bub took a liking to me, said my soul had good history, offered me a job. That’s how I started investigating murders for the Veil.

We do not exist for ourselves. As Guardians, our chosen duty is to guide the souls of the world to their final resting points. At first, it was only Peraxyus who had sought something more than what we were gifted with in Afterlife. They were the first that aimed to, somehow, create an order to this realm. Now, there are many of us who serve the upper levels of the Sky Palace and the lower cities of Infernum. Many who went in search of an answer but were only met with more questions. We made a home for ourselves in what can be considered the neutral level. Here lies the edge of Peliad Forest, an enchanted place that hides secrets even we have yet to uncover. Then there’s the most recognizable area of this level, the Cliffside. Where the suns above, and the moon beneath meet the sea; the small piece of the neutral level all souls will see and have seen. Here, souls can take in the span of the lives they’d left behind, and ponder their new existence in Afterlife.

We'z Walking on a Path Ruled By Numbers
This road has felt endless, yet limited; every step tracked. Inching away along this path, I feel trapped. Confined. Left to this narrow passage that may one day amount to something greater. Time is not a concept. Only distance. From start to finish, I laugh and cry and attempt to convince myself that this is worth it. I cannot stray. I must keep going. Every step etched, is a step taken, is measured as more than before. I cannot even recall how I got here. Maybe I don’t even really exist. Just another tick marking off a perceived presence. Of what though? I am just another line drawn. Nothing more, nothing less.
