As reports of madness and disappearances sweep Outpost 37, officials search for answers in science and reason. But the truth may lie beyond both—and it’s already too close.

Report:
OUTPOST 37, SECTORS 10–12 — Residents of the Earth colony Outpost 37 are facing a growing crisis as reports of sudden-onset madness and a string of child disappearances continue to rise with no clear cause.
More than two dozen children, ranging in age from infancy to pre-teen, have gone missing over the past two weeks. The first reported case was the disappearance of four-year-old Travis Helms, whose absence marked the beginning of what authorities are now calling a “pattern of concern.”
All of the missing children resided on farms along the outskirts of Sectors 10 and 12. Search efforts are currently underway by both local authorities and volunteer groups of concerned citizens.
At the same time, cases of rapid-onset mental instability are being reported across multiple sectors, with no clear geographic pattern. The number of affected individuals continues to grow.
Reported symptoms include:
vivid disaster-related delusions
extreme irritability
irrational behavior
excessive sweating and dry mouth
auditory and visual hallucinations
A particularly disturbing pattern has emerged among those affected:
“They all keep saying the same thing—that the sky is going to burn… that we’re all going to burn.”
Interview #1: Local Witness
We spoke with local mining foreman Randall Draves, who believes the incidents may be connected:
“It didn’t start with Travis’s disappearance. About a week before that, old man Whiley up the valley went nuts—started shootin’ his own cattle. Then Marjorie from church tried drownin’ a couple of kids in the daycare.
Both of ’em were talkin’ about the same thing—dreams… the sky burnin’.
If it had just been Marjorie, I’d have chalked it up to some religious thing… but it ain’t just her.”
Interview #2: Eyewitness Account
We also spoke with local residents Roy and Dolly Saunders, who reported a disturbing incident involving livestock disappearance:
Interviewer: “We are live from the Saunders Farm in Sector 12. Mr. Saunders, can you tell us what you and your wife witnessed?”
Mr. Saunders:
“Well now, I… I didn’t see anything. Old Luanne probably just wandered off. There’s some fencing out back that got broken—I’m gonna go look for her.”
Mrs. Saunders (interrupting):
“Roy! Whatever that THING was came straight up out of the ground and pulled Luanne down!
I watched it drag her through the soil—all 1,555 pounds of her! You tell me what can do that?!”
Mr. Saunders:
“Now, Dol—”
Mrs. Saunders:
“Don’t you ‘Now Dol’ me! Our baby Jenny is gone—just gone! It’s been over a week!
Those kids get into everything, and up to anything, sure—but they NEVER miss a meal.
We’ve got a week’s worth of food sittin’ untouched… Please—somebody help us.”
Official Response
Colonial authorities and scientific consultants are currently investigating the possibility of soil contamination as a contributing factor.
One working theory suggests that an environmental contaminant may be inducing shared hallucinations, potentially causing affected individuals—particularly children—to wander off into surrounding terrain.
Officials stress that this theory has not yet been confirmed, and investigations are ongoing.
Closing Statement
As fear spreads throughout Outpost 37, residents are being urged to remain vigilant, report unusual behavior, and avoid isolated areas—particularly near farmland and unmonitored ground zones.
For now, the fate of the missing children remains unknown.
Our thoughts are with the families of Outpost 37.
