Luck Was On Her Side

No proof this is true

I heard tell of a young girl failing her classes last year. In an effort to hide this, she made herself fake report cards, forgetting that the real report cards were posted to her parents.

Her mother received the real report but realised after receiving the fake report card, that the school had made a mistake and was angry enough to force them to correct the error.

Luckily for her daughter, the school teacher had both retired and thrown out her records on retirement.

I can only hypothesize this would work as I've never failed a class in my life.

I was challenged by Jessica's Quill (Medium Writer) to write a drabble of the word 'hypothesize'.

Wikipedia defines a drabble as follows :

A drabble is a short work of fiction of precisely one hundred words in length. The purpose of the drabble is brevity, testing the author's ability to express interesting and meaningful ideas in a confined space.

About the Creator

Colleen Millsteed

My first love is poetry — it’s like a desperate need to write, to free up space in my mind, to escape the constant noise in my head. Most of the time the poems write themselves — I’m just the conduit holding the metaphorical pen.

My younger brother had a classmate who would simply have hacked the school computer (as he was wont to do) & changed the grade.

  • Oh wow, lucky for sure. Lol. Loved your story my friend!
