Love Four All

You Had to Be There

By Julie LacksonenPublished 3 months ago • Updated 3 months ago • 3 min read

It was just another meeting of four best friends. Our favorite bar and grill was hopping. We got our corner booth and were left to our own devices, which is just the way we liked it.

Tammy admitted to the guys that we were struggling to keep up with our bills. She looked me in the eyes and said, "It's not your fault, Sharon. The economy just sucks right now." She kissed me gently. She told the guys, "We may have to move somewhere else."

Christian said, "You should just move in with us. We've got an extra room. You could help us with the rent, but we wouldn't charge you as much as you're paying now." He looked at Charles. "What do you think, love?" He batted his eyelashes.

It took Charles no more than three second to clap his hands. "Great idea! But I'll do you one further. How about we consider being polyamorous?"

Tammy's eyes widened. "Say what now?"

Charles said, "I've been thinking about this for a while."

Now Chrisian's eyes widened. "Why didn't you tell me?"

"I wasn't sure how to bring it up. Anyway, we've all known we're all bi since we met at the pride parade three years ago. I think we could have some fun together."

"I don't know..." Chris trailed off.

Tammy added, "It sounds complicated. What happens if someone gets jealous?"

Charles said, "We'd have to set some clear boundaries, but like I said, we could have fun. Being roommates would be like meeting here, but it would be on a daily basis instead of every week or two."

Charles looked down at his drink. "I don't want to lose any of you over this."

A lightbulb lit up my face. "Let's have an orgy." I looked around to see if anyone from other tables heard me, but they were busy with their own conversations. I looked at everyone at our table. "If anyone is uncomfortable after that, we'll leave it alone and go back to meeting like this... unless Tammy and I have to move far away."

Tammy and Charlie nodded. Chris shrugged.

We chose the following Saturday, giving us all one week to get onboard or back out. It was all or nothing.

On the big day, Tammy and I giggled like young girls getting ready for prom. We helped each other with outfits, hair, and even added just a splash of makeup.

Tammy held my face and said, "Sharon, you know that you're my everything. That will not change after tonight."

I hugged her and said, "Nothing to worry about then because I feel the same."

As we entered Charlie and Chris' place, we both kissed each of them on the lips.

We took the drinks they offered and gathered in their living room. We sat in awkward silence until Chris jumped up, startling everyone else.

"Music!" he proclaimed. "We need music." He turned on some cool jazz. It seemed just right.

Charles, our unofficial leader said, "Let's just dispense with the formalities. I've got a boner, so let's get this party started."

That eased the tension. We all walked hand-in-hand to their bedroom.

Tammy chuckled. "Good thing you guys have a huge king bed."

It all started with kisses and touches all around. We had decided ahead of time that we all wanted to experience each other, rather than falling back exclusively to our usual partner.

I ended up with Charles, and Tammy was down on Chris. Watching her was stimulating. I smiled and started in on Charles. I have to admit; the newness and excitement of the situation gave an extra level to the eroticism of the sex that evening.

We were at it for nearly two hours, taking a drink and shower break about halfway through, showering in pairs. After everyone had been satisfied multiple times, we collapsed on the bed in a tangle of limbs.

We all sighed simultaneously, making everyone laugh.

Charles asked, "When can you ladies move in?" causing more laughter.

It's official. We have been a polyamorous quartet for over a year now. We have all given each other permission to hook up with whomever is handy if a desire arises, as long as the other party is willing. More than once, I've walked in on Tammy with one of the guys and happily joined them. There are times when Tammy and I just watch Charles and Chris for a while and then slip off to the other room for some private time. The freedom is liberating.

People probably whisper about us, but we don't care. Very few understand us, but again, we don't care. I have never felt more loved and appreciated. Love is love. To us, it's like a four-way marriage. Just like a marriage, there are bumps along the way.

All we have to do is remind each other of that first night, and it all feels new again.
