CHAPTER 3

It's a rainy Friday afternoon in Jacksonville three long agonizing weeks later. Larissa backs out of her driveway and hits the road heading back to Orlando. Just before three, as she pulls onto I-95 she calls West over the Bluetooth.

"This is West!" he answers

"Hey babe, how are you?" she states

"I'm good, just tired. It's been a long week. And, how are you?" he asks

"I'm ok. Are you busy?

"I'm about to go into a meeting with Tom, my investment partner. Is everything ok?"

"Yes, everything is fine" she says not wanting to ruin her surprise

"I will probably be an hour or so. Can I call you after my meeting?" he states then pauses "I miss you!" he adds softly

"Sure, that's fine. And I know, I miss you too!" Larissa replies

"I'll call you as soon as I'm done." he says

"Ok. Hope your meeting goes well. Talk to you soon." she states all to sweetly

"Yes ma'am!" he says hanging up

An hour and fifty-seven minutes later Larissa pulls into the parking lot next to West's car. Just as she does her phone rings.

"Hello!" she says answering the phone

"Hey Babe!" he replies

"I'm sorry my meeting ran much longer than I intended." he apologizes

"That's ok. How did everything go?" Larissa asks as she gets out of the car

"Good, we were just discussing a few things. Tom wanted to fill me in on a new project that he wants my dad and I to look at. That's what held me up." he states

"No worries. What do you have planned for this evening?" she asks

"Nothing at all. I wish you were here!" he replies

As she walks in the door and heads down the hall towards his office

"If I was, what would you have planned for us?" she asks

"When you get back we'll see." he replies as she stops just before getting to his office door

"Come on, humor me." she states

"Honestly, I can think of a number of things! None of which I want to discuss over the phone!" he says sweetly

Walking up to the door she knocks

"Hold on Babe." West says quickly as he gets up from his desk

As he opens the door his face instantly lights up. Not saying a word, he embraces her, kissing her intensely, pouring three weeks of passion and lust into his most sincere greeting.

Pulling away breathless Larissa whispers

"Hi!"

"Hi!" he replies

Momentarily they gaze at each other

"Why didn't you tell me you were coming?" West whispers

"I wanted to surprise you." she states

"Surprise!" she adds

"I am pleasantly surprised!" he smiles

Gently tucking a strand of hair behind her ear he leans in and gives her another long passionate kiss

Looking around the office she sees that not much has changed.

"So, what was it you didn't want to discuss on the phone?" she says softly

"I missed you!" he replies closing the door as she walks into the office

"I missed you too!" she states leaning in placing a gentle kiss on his lips

"I hope you brought all your things!" he states holding her close

"Why?" she replies sweetly

"I'm not letting you leave again!" he states

"Are you still working?" Larissa asks

"No ma'am!" West replies quickly

"Just let me shut down my computer and I'm all yours!"

"All mine!" Larissa states

After a moment West walks back up to her and after giving her a quick peck he asks

"Are you hungry?"

"Starving!" she whispers

"What would you like?" he asks

Wrapping her arms around his neck she replies

"Something quick. I'm ready for dessert!" she smiles

Beyond pleased with her answer he smirks then states

"How about pizza?"

"And wings!" she adds

"I'm pretty sure I can manage that!" he replies

After placing their order West grabs Larissa's bag and they head upstairs. Before long, their food arrives, as they plate their dinner West states

"I've been worried about you and I wasn't sure if you were coming back."

"That was never a question. I'm sorry you were worried." she replies

Before long they finish up dinner, West says

"I know you wanted to stay in, but we should probably go to the store. I haven't been shopping in forever. And since you didn't give me a heads up, you get to come with me."

"I would love to!" she replies as they stand and begin cleaning off the table

The drive to the store takes less than five minutes. Holding hands as they walk inside Larissa says

"I could get used to this!"

With a smile West gives her a quick kiss

"You must only cook breakfast at home" Larissa says as they walk through the store

"Yeah, pretty much. What makes you say that?"

"Because you didn't have any real food." she replies

"My place has always been more of a private office. All I do is work."

"I guess that's why you're a regular at the grill!" she replies

"I'm buying!" she adds quickly as they walk towards the register

"No, you're not!" he answers

It's her first night back so she chooses to let it go for now, knowing that he'd never agree without a fight.

On the way back to Utopia, Larissa says

"I looked over the maintenance contract and your expansion plans. We can schedule a meeting to go over both if you like."

"Absolutely, I'm all yours until Tuesday. I'm pretty sure we can squeeze a quick meeting in!" he says

"We also have the house viewing with my mom. I postponed it, I wanted to make sure you were here." he adds

"A house viewing? Who's moving?" She asks

"No one remember I told you. My mother has made it her life's mission to find me the perfect house. Having been unsuccessful thus far, she still refuses to give up. So, I entertain her occasionally, and let her schedule a viewing to see what her and Mrs. Grant have come up with." he explains

"So, are you even looking for a house?" she asks

"No, my intentions are to build a house!" he states

"So, you just go because...." Larissa starts but is lost for words

"Ok, I'll go. What's happening Tuesday" she replies

"Nothing I'm just not going back into the office until then. One more thing I needed to ask you about, my brother has a game in Pennsylvania about a month from now that my parents and I are flying to. I would love for you to come with me, and of course you heard Brian ask me to bring you!" he states

"He also has this family dinner planned for that Monday in Detroit." West adds

"I would love to go, can't wait to see Brian again. Not too sure about family dinner though" she states

"How often do you cook?" she asks him. Noticing the kitchen looks like it's rarely used as they bring the bags into the kitchen.

"Not much, I usually go to my parents when I want some real food." he states

After getting all the groceries put away the two head in the living room and West turns on the tv.

While they sit watching tv West asks

"Have you heard anything else about the break in at your house?"

"No, I haven't. I really just want to forget about it." she replies

"I want to know who it was!" he says

"You have any ideas?" he asks

"No, do you?" she asks almost sure he does

"Of course, your ex!" he says without hesitation

"What makes you think that?" Larissa asks

"Timing!" he states, then says

"It never crossed your mind that it might have been him?"

"Yes of course, but I can't imagine why." she says considering the possibility once more

"Rejection can make people do some crazy things Larissa" West states

"He followed you here and shortly after your house was broken into. Did you give the police his name?" West asks

"No" She replies softly

West sees that she is either clearly oblivious or doesn't want to alarm him, so he drops it. Changing the subject, they discuss playing miniature golf and catching a comedy show over the weekend.

Early Monday morning West decides to go for a run on his treadmill. Waking up alone Larissa sets out to find him.

"Hey babe good morning" West says as he walks into the living room.

"Good morning, your rather energetic this morning!" she says

"Gotta keep up with you!" he says as he gives her a kiss

"Is that right!" she teases

West takes her hand and says

"I need a shower, join me!"

After a quick shower they decide to go out for breakfast and discuss the maintenance contract and Larissa's thoughts on the expansion plans.

"So, what were your thoughts on the contract." West says as he looks over the menu

Larissa hesitates then begins

"It's open to interpretation and gives the company immunity from everything. I'm sure you've had nothing but problems trying to get things done with them! Did your attorney even look at it?"

"Ok, and yes. As I plan for the expansion I want to handle everything in house, even electrical and ac. So, I will begin plans to expand the maintenance department. And don't worry I have since hired new counsel" West answers with a smirk

"I love the plans for the golf course and club house. The rooms I am a little concerned about though. The expansion is going to bring in a lot of revenue, but expenses are also going to double if not triple. Your advertising will have to stay at the top of their game within a tight budget and after the meeting I witnessed with Rebecca, she does not seem qualified to handle a task like that. She is too loose with the budget and her planning sucks." Larissa says reading West's expression

"Marry me!" West says with that sexy grin

Larissa laughs and says

"What?"

West pauses and says, "I'm serious!"

"So, you can get out of paying me!" she chuckles and West replies

"You are a very intelligent young woman! Thank you for putting so much thought into this. I don't understand why you haven't decided to come work with me. I will more than match your salary." He states

"I will come work for you under one condition!" she says anticipating his response

"And what is that?" he asks

"You let me pay for this breakfast." she states

West looks at her for a moment considering his options and smirks

"Nice try, but I'm sure I can convince you some other way!" he replies as he pulls out his wallet

"Now we have to go ring shopping" West says

Larissa looks at him and says

"Let's save that for after this family dinner!"

"I've waited this long, I guess a few more weeks won't kill me!" West replies

Back at the resort they sit out on the balcony discussing all West's plans for the resort. West savoring the fact that Larissa is back in his life. Pulling out his phone, he is thrilled at how much thought and effort she has put into the contract and plans.

"Noah, can you please bring me a fully charged cart. I'll be down in ten minutes." he says then hangs up

"A cart?" Larissa asks

"Yes, I haven't taken you to see the property yet!" West reminds her

"I thought you'd forgotten!" she tells him.

"I'll get some shoes" she says

West takes Larissa over to see all the property that he'd been referring to for the past few weeks. And to her surprise it is amazing, almost five hundred acres of undeveloped land.

After a few weeks of catching up and getting better acquainted with each other. West getting Larissa familiar with the ins and outs of the resort. Finally, the day had arrived for West and Larissa to go view the house with his mom. Larissa is a little nervous about seeing Mrs. West for the first time in over nine years.

West rolls over to face Larissa as the sun light glistens softly off her skin

"I love waking up next to you!" he says as she opens her eyes

"I love falling asleep in your arms!" she replies

Before he can reply his phone rings

"This is West!" he says

"Morning mother" he continues

"Yes, I remember, I'll be there. Did you text me the address?" he asks

"Ok, bye." he says hanging up

Rolling out of bed West heads to the shower, shortly after Larissa joins him.

"Are you ok?" West asks once she gets in the shower

She replies "Yeah, I just have a little headache."

As West gets out, he says

"I'm going to check my email and then I'll find us something to eat."

"Ok I'll be right out" Larissa replies

West dresses quickly and heads into his office. There he checks his emails and sends Rebecca an email letting her know that he will be off site for a few hours and will return before the commercial shoot at 2pm.

After about fifteen minutes, realizing he hadn't heard anything from Larissa he goes back into the room. She is out of the shower and leaning over the toilet.

"Babe, are you ok?" he says walking into the bathroom and placing his hand on her back, and again she begins to vomit. Reaching over West hands her a towel and says

"We can reschedule the viewing if you're not feeling well."

"I'll be fine, just give me a minute please" she says as she stands and begins washing her face

West only walks into the bedroom, concerned he waits on the bed for her to come out. After a few minutes she emerges, not saying a word she heads for the closet and gets dressed. Watching her closely he says

"Larissa, are you sure you're ok"?

"I think I'll live! I have a headache, but I'll take something for it." she says sarcastically

"Are you up for breakfast" he asks still a little concerned

"I'll just have a muffin or something" she says softly

"Ok" West replies walking into the kitchen

Their drive to the house is quiet, West glances at Larissa as she stares out the window

Pulling up to the address Mrs. West texted him, he says

"This can't be the house!"

"I copied it from the text your mom sent" Larissa says, continuing she says

"I thought you were going to be open"

"I am and that's her car, so I guess this is the right place" he replies

Parking West asks Larissa

"How are you feeling?"

"I'm ok, let's go see your new house" she says

"I'm just looking" he states

As they walk up to a Tuscany-style estate the front door opens and Mrs. West and Miss. Grant greet them. West hugs his mom and then shakes Miss Grant's hand then Mrs. West says

"West, who is this?" glaring at Larissa with a disapproving look on her face

"Mom this is Larissa, Larissa you remember my mother, Rita and this is Miss Shirley Grant, Miss Grant this is my girlfriend Larissa." West states

Mrs. West unable to hide her contempt, she continues to glare at Larissa and says "Girlfriend!"

"Yes" West replies.

Ignoring his mother's shock, he asks Shirley

"How long has this property been on the market?"

"About three months" she replies.

Leading them into the foyer she begins the tour saying

"Well West this is the dramatic entrance with a spiral staircase, marble floors throughout the entire house and these ceilings. This house has an open floor plan, cozy family room, 6 bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms and a movie theater with surround sound." Shirley takes her time and shows them every inch of the house.

Mrs. West continuing to watch Larissa and West closely as Shirley shows off the house. West says

"Excuse us" taking Larissa's hand they walk back toward the master suite.

"Are you feeling ok?" he asks

"Yes, I'm fine." she replies

"How do you like the house?" he asks

"It's a nice house! How do you like it?" she says with a slight grin

As they turn to the door Mrs. West says

"May I borrow my son for a second!" all too sweetly

"I'll be right back babe." West says kissing her cheek

Watching them walk out the bedroom and down the hall Larissa glances around the room and instantly her headache returns. Heading down the stairs she starts towards the door, peering back through the glass door she sees that West and his mom have made it outside by the pool and are in a rather heated conversation.

Miss Grant is standing near the door, so she decides to ask her a few questions. After a minute Mrs. West heads toward them, with the same disapproving look on her face. West follows behind her, both with their eyes locked on Larissa and it's evident to her, that she was the topic of conversation!

"So, James how do you like the house?" Shirley asks

"It's amazing. I just have one question." he states

"And what's that?" she smiles

"What's the asking price?" West asks getting right to it

"2.3 million!" she answers as if that's a steal

"Thank you so much for your time Shirley. We will get back with you if we're interested in making an offer." West says kindly as they walk towards the door

As Shirley locks up the house, West walks his mom to her car.

"Are you taking your Mother to lunch darling?" she asks watching Larissa as she walks to West's car

"Stop it with the looks" he snaps, warning her

"Larissa and I have plans." he adds

"Did your Father know about this?" she asks referring to Larissa

"Not until you tell him! Have a good day ma!" he smirks and walks over to open Larissa's door

"Was this some big joke?" Larissa says glaring at West as he gets into the car

"What do you mean?" he asks confused

"You made no mention of me to your mother! She didn't look very happy to see me." she pauses then continues

"It's been almost a month since you made plans to come see this house. That gave you plenty of time to tell her about me."

"I don't see why..." West starts then stops

West can tell, Larissa is livid! She sits staring out the window and remains silent the entire ride back to Utopia.

As they pull in, West asks

"Larissa, what's wrong?"

Fighting to keep her composure and hold back tears she replies

"Why didn't you tell your mom that I was coming with you? You made it such a big deal for me to come with you, but you didn't feel the need to mention that your girlfriend would be coming with you. Or even that you had a girlfriend! For instance, your ex, who your so in love with!" she says sarcastically as tears spring into her eyes.

"You're overreacting Larissa!" he states

"Overreacting!" she says softly then gets out of the car

Walking over to her West says

"Okay, that came out wrong!"

"I know you like upsetting your mom, but it shouldn't have been at my expense." she replies

"That wasn't my intention. I would never intentionally do something to upset you." he says softly

Tears continue to pool in her eyes as she stares at him. Shaking her head, she reaches for her keys then turns and gets into her car. West just stands and watches as she starts the engine and backs out then drives away.

Spending most of the afternoon in his office with the door closed, hoping no one bothers him about the commercial shoot. West continues calling Larissa repeatedly with no answer leaving numerous voicemails and text messages all with no response. Around six o'clock he decides to go upstairs. Walking into the bedroom he sits on the edge of the bed and pulls out his phone and tries calling her again, straight to voicemail. West goes into his office and sits at the computer. An hour later the phone rings, hoping that its Larissa he answers quickly.

"This is West!" he says

"Hey West, What's up?" Brian says

They talk briefly about the trip to Pennsylvania. Just after he hangs up, his phone rings again.

"This is West!" he answers

"West!" his father states

"Hey Dad!" West pauses then continue

"I know your calling about the house viewing with Mom today. How is she?" he asks

"I'm pretty sure you know, and boy have I had an ear full." Joe answers

"Dad, it was innocent, I promise" West says

"What do you mean? You have a girlfriend?" Joe says

West doesn't reply

"Knowing your mother, I'm sure that didn't go over too well. And you've had an ear full as well, I'm sure!" Mr. West says

"No, it didn't. Not at all! I didn't see the harm. It seemed like a good idea at the time." West says

"So, who is Lisa?" Joe asks

West laughs and says

"Larissa, Dad! You remember, my ex from high school."

"Oh, Frank's daughter" he replies

"Yes"

"Oh ok! I look forward to hearing how that came about. Are you going to call your mother?"

"Yes. Tomorrow, after she cools down." he replies

"Ok, don't wait too long. Are you still going to make it to the game in a few weeks?" Mr. West asks

"Yes, of course. We will be there." he states

"Larissa is coming to the game with you?" he asks

"Yes Sir! The game and hopefully dinner."

"Did you mention that to your mother?" Joe asks

"No, not yet"

"Ok, when you call her please mention it to her." Mr. West states

"Alright Dad good night."

"Night Son and good luck with Larissa" he says then hangs up

Staring into the night sky West grows more and more anxious wondering where and how Larissa is. Hoping she didn't go home. West goes into the bathroom and runs some bath water, and then heads to the kitchen to grab a snack. After getting some grapes he goes back into the room and calls Larissa again. This time the line just rings and rings, then finally the voicemail picks up.

"Riss, this is West, I'm worried about you. Please call me!" he says leaving her another voicemail

As he hangs up there is a knock at the door. Glancing at the phone he sees its almost ten o' clock.

Opening the door his heart stops. It's Larissa!

Their eyes lock and for a moment they stand in the doorway gazing at each other. Finally breaking the silence Larissa says

"I..."

As she begins West cuts her off

"I'm really sorry! You were right, I should've told my mom about you. I completely misjudged the situation, I was wrong and I'm sorry."

Larissa reaches up and give him a long deep passionate kiss. West quickly deepens the kiss and pulls her inside, closing the door as he scoops her into his arms then walks into the bedroom. After laying her on the bed he turns the bath water off.

Turning back to Larissa he confesses

"I wasn't sure you were coming back."

Giggling she replies

"You can't get rid of me that easy" standing up she walks over to the tub

"Is this for me?" she says gesturing toward the water

"You can join me" he says leaning in kissing her forehead

West gets in first then watches closely as he helps Larissa in.

"Have you eaten?" he asks once they're in the tub

"I'm not hungry. I'm still not feeling my best." she replies

Once they're out of the tub and dressed West asks

"Have a snack with me please"

"If you insist" she replies

"I do" he says

"I'll grab us something to eat"

"Where have you been?" he asks when he returns

"Why?" she replies

"I was worried about you and you turned your phone off. Then you didn't return any of my calls or text messages"

"I was at the airport" she states softly

"At the airport!" West says

"Yes, at the airport! I go there to clear my head. Did you call and talk to your mom?" she asks changing the subject

"No not yet, I talked to my dad. I wanted to talk to you first, I'll call her in the morning." West says

"You made me feel like you were ashamed of me. And that everything you said was a lie. You used me to get under your mom's skin. And your mom, I can't believe she was so cold- hearted and mean" Larissa whispers softly as they lie in bed

"Trust me that's not true at all" West turns Larissa to him and looks into her eyes

"Riss I love you! I am in no way ashamed of you, at all! Everything I said to you was and is true, I meant every word. My mother is just always wanting to know everything and takes everything so personally. This is my life and I'm not going to tell her every move I make, before I make it. She still hasn't come to grips with that. Her attitude was with me, not you" he states softly

Larissa closes her eyes then leans in and kisses him sweetly.

Then she whispers "I love you too West! It's been a really long day."

"Good night!" he whispers softly

As she turns her back to him, West holds her close as they drift off to sleep.

Walking into the living room Larissa hears West on the phone, standing by the door out of sight she eavesdrops

"I guess I went about it the wrong way."

"I still meant everything I said but I am sorry for not telling you sooner."

"Dad also suggested that I let you know that Larissa is coming to the game with me and I expect you to be nice. She is going to be your daughter in law!" he pauses

"Yes, Detroit too!"

"Yes, and yes we are! No, it hasn't been long."

"I've already made the reservations and booked the flights. Seriously you need to be nice on this trip Ma!" West continues

After a minute he says

"Guess we'll find out when we get there! Talk to you later. Bye."

Just as he hangs up Larissa walks into the office

Smiling West stands up and walks over to the doorway to greet her.

"Good morning." she says

"Good morning beautiful!" he replies

"Was that your mom?" she asks

"Yes, it was!" he states

Smiling he asks, "Are you still upset with me?"

Larissa wraps her arms around his neck and says

"I think you've suffered enough"

Leaning in West gently kisses her forehead and says

"Yes, I have."

"Are you hungry?" he asks

"Yes!" she replies

"Good let's eat" he takes her hand and heads into the kitchen.

"Is granola ok?" he asks

"No, I want some real breakfast." she replies

"I take it you're feeling better!" he says very pleased with her response

As they sit, West says

"You were resting so peacefully I didn't want to wake you but it's getting late and I have to go into the office soon."

"Ok, I need to run out to the store and I may get a massage" Larissa replies

"Really?" he says a little surprised

"Yeah, I need to grab a few things and my backs been aching for the past few days, so I'll do some research in the spa today. I'll send you my notes" she says matter-of-factly

Unable to hold back his amusement West laughs and says

"Only you can turn a spa day into work!" smirking he adds

''I can give you a massage, I'll even throw in a happy ending!"

Standing he says

"I have to grab a quick shower and get dressed"

"Okay, I'll clean the table" she replies

A few minutes later she heads into the bedroom just as West is coming out of the shower.

"Just in time!" she states

Smiling West replies "Just in time for what?"

"The show!" she answers as he walks into the closet. She walks toward the closet and West's phone rings.

Her eyes catch his and she whispers

"Can you call them back?"

Smiling he drops his towel and scoops her into his arms and says

"They'll call back if it's important."

Standing her on her feet at the edge of the bed he kisses her forehead and then her breast, as he does she flinches slightly.

"What's wrong?" he asks

"Nothing" she replies and West pulls away slowly

"Please, don't stop!" she continues, grabbing his hands and wrapping them around her, she kisses him again wanting and they once again become lost in each other.

Unable to bask in the afterglow of their love making, West gently kisses her forehead and soon after he gets dressed. After five minutes he emerges to find Larissa fast asleep in the bed. He places a blanket over her and putting her phone on the night stand next to her, he heads down to the office.

A week and a half passes, West and Larissa head out to do some last-minute shopping before their trip to Brian's game. They decide to buy team shirts and matching outfits for family dinner. On their way back to the resort they stop to grab something to eat. Over dinner Larissa shares her reservations about the trip and how she'd rather not go, referring to the catastrophe with Mrs. West at the house viewing.

"If you don't want to do dinner with my family, I won't go either!" West states

"No, I should just stay here!" she replies under her breath

"If you stay, I'm staying too!" West replies

"You know you can't do that" she states

Halfway through dinner West notices that Larissa isn't eating and asks

"You don't like your food?"

"I'm just not hungry." she replies

Without warning Larissa's eyes begin to water and suddenly she says

"Excuse me, I'll be right back"

West not sure what happened asks for the check

When Larissa returns, he stands and says

"You ready?" not waiting for an answer he takes her hand and they walk silently to the car. Once there in West looks at her and asks

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing, I'm fine." she lies

"Do I look stupid, you were just crying, please don't lie to me!" he states

"I said I'm fine! Can we just go, please!" she says then stares out the window

Riding in silence West's phone rings over the Bluetooth, answering he says

"This is West!"

"What's up bro?" Brian says

"Hey Brian" he says glancing at Larissa

"You and Larissa still coming to the game?"

"Yeah, why?" he asks

"My girl is going to be sitting with you guys at the game" Brian says

"Why are you telling me? Did you tell Dad?" he asks

"No, I haven't told Mom or Dad, but I wanted you to know. Her name is Megan. That was my big surprise for Monday, but she took off work to come to the game on Sunday too. So, she'll be there. I just sent you a picture of her."

"Ok, you should at least tell Dad!" West says

"No, it's a surprise" Brian replies

"For the record I'm telling you this is a bad idea. I have to go Brian!" West says as he pulls into the resort

"Ok, text me and let me know when you guys land." they hang up.

"I see you're not the only one that likes to piss your mom off!" Larissa says as she climbs out of the car, not waiting for West to open her door she heads inside.

Once they're in West heads straight to the shower and hears Larissa's phone ring. Completely ignoring her, he is in and out of the shower in ten minutes or less. After his shower he checks his emails and goes straight to bed. While Larissa is in the shower, he falls asleep.

Up early the following morning, West grabs a quick workout, takes a shower and goes down to the office. Larissa is still fast asleep, so he decides not to wake her. At the office he lets his assistant know that he will be out of the office for the weekend and the early part of next week, but he should be back by Wednesday afternoon.

A few hours later West comes back upstairs and Larissa is still asleep. A little worried he looks at the time, it's 11:15, so he attempts to wake her.

"Larissa" he says softly

"Babe wake up" she moves a little then opens her eyes. West kisses her forehead and asks

"Are you ok?"

She shakes her head yes and rolls back over. West sits watching her carefully, as she begins to move again. Larissa slowly climbs out of bed and heads into the bathroom, neither of them saying a word. After a few moments he knocks on the door and she says

"Come in"

"Are you alright?" he asks as he stands at the door. Larissa is sitting on the toilet.

"Babe!" he says but she doesn't reply

"Larissa!" he says a little louder

Again, she doesn't say a word then he looks at her then down at her panties and back up again. Finally, she looks up and says

"I........ My...... I don't remember having a period last month!" for a second they don't say anything, then West looks at her panties again and says

"Ok, it's on now? Right?"

"I think so, I don't know" she says softly

"What do you mean! Why else would you be bleeding?" he says a little louder than he intends

"Get out!" Larissa shouts at him

West hesitantly leaves the bathroom and goes to his office not saying anything. Unsure what to think, he decides to check his emails and sees the commercial clip that Rebecca sent. After replying to all his emails, he unplugs his laptop and packs it. Heading back into the room to do some more packing he sees that Larissa is still not out of the bathroom and decides to knock on the door again, against his better judgement.

"What!" Larissa answers

West immediately opens the door and says

"Excuse me!"

"What is it?" she says a little softer

"Attitude!?" West asks

"Just...." she begins then stops

"You've been in a bad mood since last night. I tried getting you to open up, I gave you some space and you've even had time to sleep it off. Either talk to me without an attitude like an adult or take a walk, a drive or something!" West says at a complete loss

"Are you kicking me out?" she asks as tears swell in her eyes

"No, but I haven't done anything to you and I don't know what's wrong. You have to talk to me." he states in a much softer tone as she begins to cry

West gently embraces her and leads her into the room and over to the bed. Sitting down then wrapping her in his arms. They sit this way for what feels like an hour, Larissa continuing to sob.

"West..." she whispers then pauses

"Yes!" he answers after a beat

"West... I... ugh.... I think I might be pregnant!" she says in a soft mumble

Suddenly the earth stands still, and they sit motionless staring at each other

"But your bleeding, your period is on, isn't it?" West states

"I.... I think I'm spotting" she whispers, then continuing she says

"The last cycle I can remember was over two months ago, about a week or two before I came here."

West says

"Ok, so how about you take a test."

"I'm scared!" Larissa says

"But we need to know, we have a flight to catch this evening" West states

"I know, this doesn't have to change our trip" Larissa says as she begins to cry again

Suddenly she races to the bathroom, West follows behind her. She just barely makes it to the toilet, rubbing her back as she throws up again then reaching her a towel he reluctantly says

"I think you may be right!"

Not sure what to say next West says

"I'll go get a test?"

"West I'm sorry!" she says softly as she drops her head in her hands

West quickly reaches for her hand and helps her to her feet.

"Riss you don't have anything to be sorry for! Please, don't cry!" he pauses and kisses her forehead

"If you're pregnant, we'll figure it out! You didn't get pregnant by yourself!" he says as he looks into her eyes

"Ok, I'll go." she replies softly

"Please, let me go!" West says quickly

Without giving her a chance to reply West heads toward the living room and after a minute he walks back in with a bottle of water

"Here, drink this. I'll be right back." he says and then he's out the door

Alone she recaps the past few months and tries to figure out how she could have let this happen. She'd spent her entire life being cautious, more like abstinent, how on earth could this have happened! She realizes that with West she loses complete control! Ten minutes later West is back

"Riss!" he says as she walks out of the bedroom

"Yes" Larissa walks up to him and without hesitation she kisses him tenderly and West instantly drops the bag on the couch and embraces her. Pulling away slowly she says

"West, I'm sorry for last night and this morning!" not saying a word he sits down on the couch and lifts her nightie then softly kisses her belly

"I've always wanted my child to grow in this womb" he whispers softly

Larissa straddles his lap and starts kissing him.

Grabbing the bag from the couch Larissa heads into the bathroom, West says

"I'll be in the shower." Not even a minute later she joins him.

"That was quick!" West says

"I didn't wait for the results." she replies

He nods his head and asks

"Are you nervous?"

"Not as much as I was but yes. What time is it?" she replies

"It's a little after noon!" he replies

"I slept so late?"

"Yes, you did!" West says as he turns the water off

"Let's go see if we're having a baby" he smiles and steps out of the shower. Handing her a towel he says

"After you."

Larissa walks into the bathroom, looks at the counter and turns to West and says "Babe!"

West looks at the counter and says

"Looks like we're having a baby!"

Quickly embracing her as she begins to cry, West says

"Please don't cry!"

Following the results, the two choose to keep the possible pregnancy between them until they can schedule a doctor's appointment to confirm. Larissa calls her GYN and schedules an appointment for Tuesday morning. Although they have a full weekend planned West insists that they have time for the appointment. They finish packing for their trip and decide to get something to eat. Once they're in the car Larissa says

"What do you have a taste for?"

"A sub or sandwich is fine. What about you?" he responds

"That sounds good, and I'm buying!" she adds softly

"No, you're not!" West says with a smile

"Why won't you let me pay for anything?" she asks

"I don't see the big deal. You buy things when you go to the store alone. Please don't turn this into an argument." West states

"Ok, for baby sake I'll let it go for now! But I'm paying for lunch, Please!" Larissa pleads

"No" he replies

After lunch they take a walk in the park, before heading to the airport.

"I wanted to take you sightseeing tomorrow and, in the evening, we were going to hit up the Rivers Casino with my parents." West says

"That sounds like fun! Well except for me having to be around your mother." Larissa states then asks

"Can we stop by the pharmacy on the way to the airport please."

"Sure. Is everything ok?" West asks

"Yes, I just need to get some vitamins" she states

Once they've checked their luggage, they hear that their flight is boarding.

"Great timing." West says "I hate waiting at airports" he adds

"So impatient!" she smirks

After boarding the plane Larissa says

"You remember the last time you were on a plane?"

"Yes, I do, that's something I'll never forget. Speaking of that I haven't seen those tickets show up yet" he adds

"You won't because I paid for them." she replies

"I figured that, why?"

"It was just easier, and because you never let me pay for anything!" she says

"Those tickets weren't cheap!" he states

"West, I can afford it trust me!" she states

"It doesn't matter that you can afford it!" he replies

"Look, I know you are used to being the alpha male, wining and dining everyone with your charm and success but I'm not that kind of girl!" Larissa says softly

West glares at her and for a second doesn't say a word. Then after a beat he says

"I know that, and we'll talk about it but not now! Please drop it for now. When we get back home and settled, we can discuss it, but I doubt anything changes." he says as he reaches over, giving her a soft kiss.

Two and a half hours later they land, around seven o'clock. Gathering their luggage, they head for the car West has ordered.

"This view is amazing" Larissa says

"This is nothing, wait until you see the view of the city from our suite" West says amused at her excitement. Half an hour later they pull up to the Wyndham Grand Pittsburgh Downtown.

"I know this is horrible timing, but there are a few things I've been meaning to tell you!" Larissa leans over and kisses him on the cheek

West closes his eyes and opening them he exhales and replies

"Ok, I'm listening."

"Not here, when we get checked in and settled" she replies

Anxious to hear what Larissa has to tell him, West lays across the bed and says

"I'm settled!"

Larissa giggles then lays across the bed next to him and begins

"The few weeks while I was home, I did a lot of thinking and I put my house on the market." she pauses

"I also took a leave of absence from the airline."

For a moment West sits dumb founded while Larissa tries to gauge his reaction.

"As much as you love your house you want to sell it?" he asks a little confused

"If I get a generous enough offer, yes!" Larissa replies

"Don't get me wrong it's your house and you can do whatever you want, but I want you to be a thousand percent sure that it's what you want to do." West states

"I'm planning to look for a place closer to Orlando in the next few weeks." she responds with a smile

"Your job on the other hand, I have an opening at the resort!" West states with a smirk

"West, stop!" Larissa says

"I'm serious! Ever since your ex showed up at the resort, on our flight and especially after the break in at your house. I'd much rather you just come work and live with me." West says sitting up, then he pulls her onto his lap and asks

"Is that all?"

"What do you mean, isn't that enough?" she replies

"Yes, of course. That's just not what I was expecting that's all." he states

"What were you expecting?"

"Nothing! Let's go to bed" he says attempting to change the subject

"Not a chance James! Spill it!"

"James!" he says amused

"Tell me" Larissa pouts

"I just thought it had something to do with this." West says as he lays his hand on her belly

Laughing Larissa says

"No, and this is all your fault!"

"All my fault, you seduced me!" he says standing up then leaning her on the bed.

Whispering in her ear he says, "I love you!"

Larissa wraps her arms around his neck and kisses him, instantly his desire is made evident, and he stops and says

"See, this is the reaction my body has to you!"

"This is why were in the predicament that were in!" Larissa states as they stand in the shower, the hot water cascading down around their already heated bodies.

"I told you, you seduced me!" West smiles

"I don't see how"

"You kissed me" he states

"Well, I guess I did!" she says as she reaches up and kisses him once again.

Finally, out of the shower they lay down and decide to watch a movie. A few minutes in West's phone rings.

"This is West" he answers sitting up

"Hey dad, yeah we made it a few hours ago."

"What time is your flight tomorrow."

"Ok, we will plan to have lunch with you guys." he says winking at Larissa

"Yeah, one o'clock is fine. Will that give you time to get settled in?"

"Okay. Let me know when you land" he states

"Ok, good night" he says then hangs up

Larissa states "Lunch with your parents!"

"Yeah!" West replies

Leaning over she kisses him and says "Good night"

The following morning Larissa is awakened by the sudden urge to vomit, racing to the bathroom she just barely makes it. West wakes up just in time to see her rushing into the bathroom.

"Are you okay?" he asks, walking up behind her

"Yes, thank you!"

"I'll order room service, so you can eat something, then I need to check in at the office" he replies quickly

"Okay!" she responds getting back in bed

West places the order for breakfast and crackers then fires up his laptop.

"I forgot to show you the commercial for the resort." he tells Larissa as he takes his laptop over to the bed and shows her the clip

"Not bad, I see you managed not to be in it." she states just as there's a knock at the door

West opens the door and the bellman pushes in the cart, after tipping him he states

"Breakfast is here!"

Over breakfast West asks Larissa

"Are you nervous about lunch with my parents?"

"Absolutely!" she replies without hesitation

"You shouldn't be, it's just my parents. My dad loves you and so does my mom. She will come around, she was just surprised." he responds

"Your mom seems to hate me and I'm not quite sure why. Your dad, well we use to get along great, but it has been a long time. Added to the fact that we're hiding a pretty big secret and your mom is very...... inquisitive. Their reaction is honestly what worries me the most"

"I'll handle my mother. We'll go sightseeing after lunch, just you and me. Everything will be fine. We aren't telling them yet, so you don't have to worry about their reaction just yet. Get some rest I'll rub your back." West states

"Yet!" Larissa states

"Your mom is a walking lie detector!" she continues

"I'm sure she'll figure it out way before we're ready to tell them."

Exiting the elevator, they join Mr. and Mrs. West in the front lobby and West says

"Larissa this is my father Joe, Dad this is..."

"Larissa!" Mr. West says as he reaches and gives her a hug

"And you've met my mother" West adds as Mrs. West gives her a not so pleasant look

"Very nice to see you all again" Larissa says

"So, are you kids ready for lunch?" Joe asks

"Primanti Brothers is a great sandwich shop, thought we'd go there for lunch. If that's ok?" West states

"That sounds great." Joe replies

The ride to the restaurant is quiet for the most part. Joe tells West about some properties, that are doing well, and he asks him about the resort. West tells him about some of the upcoming changes and the commercial they just shot. Rita just sits staring out the window.

The waiter comes over to get everyone's drink order not long after they're seated

"So, what have you been up to Larissa?" Joe asks

"Well, you know I went to school in Ohio and since I graduated, I've just been working" she replies

"Where are you working?" Mrs. West asks

"I'm a flight attendant" she replies

"Oh, okay, that's a great career. What did you major in?" Joe asks

"I actually have a master's in Business Administration" she states

"Like West!" he adds

Returning with the drinks the waiter brings a welcomed distraction

"Will this be one check?" the server asks

"Yes" West says quickly

Mr. West looks at him and says

"I'll get it West!"

"No, Dad I got it!" West replies

Mrs. West ignores them argue over the check and asks

"So, Larissa how are your parents?" West instantly stills and takes her hand under the table, as she glances at him then back to his mom

"My parents both passed almost four years ago" she replies softly

"I'm sorry to hear that" she responds

West quickly changes the subject

"Mom, how did you like the house we looked at?"

Larissa stills, from one uncomfortable topic to the next, she thinks to herself.

"It was very nice, by far my favorite! I know it was a little further from the resort than you prefer." she adds

"Larissa has a gorgeous house. I wish we could pick it up and move it." West states

"Oh, Larissa you own your own home?" Rita asks

"Yes ma'am."

"In Orlando?" she asks

"No, I live in Jacksonville!" she states

"Oh, Jacksonville. That's quite a distance, how did you two cross paths?" Rita questions

West stares at his mom and then looks at Larissa

"I happen to be in Orlando and ran into West at the resort." Larissa responds

Joe says, "Must be great catching up after all these years."

West glances at Larissa, smiles and says

"It sure is!"

"When was that exactly?" Rita asks looking at West

West looks at her with a 'don't start mom' look and says

"A few months ago!"

"How nice" she replies softly

After lunch the waiter brings the check and West quickly picks it up. Not even looking at the bill he pulls out his card and gives it to the waiter.

When he returns West asks

"Can you sign for me please, I'll be right back."

The waiter gives her the receipt and she decides to be overly generous, leaving a $100 tip on a $98 check. That will teach him, she thinks to herself. In the car she makes sure to give him his copy. Glancing at it he looks at her and shakes his head.

"Are you kids up for going to the casino later this evening?" Joe asks as they arrive back at the hotel

"Sure. Is six o'clock ok?" West asks

"Yes, that's perfect, that gives us time to get some rest." Rita says as they get on the elevator

Back in their suite West takes out his receipt and says

"So, I take it you were rather pleased with our service."

"Yes, I was, thank you!" she says with a smile

"I was hoping you would let me pick up the check next time."

"I thought this wasn't going to be an issue. I said we could discuss it when we got back home." West says

"I know, but you asked me to fill it out, so I did." Larissa replies

"Ok, point taken!" he says

"I'm still finding it hard to process you not letting me pay for anything. I could understand if It was just when were out with others but even when it's just us you have an issue!" she states

"Most people would be thrilled for someone to spend money on them!"

"I'm not most people!" she replies

"It's untraditional!" he states after a brief silence

"Untraditional! You don't have to wine and dine me West! I already love you! I want you to understand that it's not about the money. It's about you understanding that It really doesn't matter who pays."

"Can I share something with you." she asks

"I don't think we will ever see eye to eye on this. And I'm sick of talking about it!" he responds

"But I really need us to! Just hear me out and I promise I'll stop pressing the issue."

"What do you need to tell me?" he asks

"Considering the complexity of our relationship we have to find common ground. So, I want to share something with you." she states

"Share what?" he asks

"What happened with my parents"

West pulls his shoes off and lays down on the bed next to her and says

"I'm not sure what that has to do with this but, I'm all ears."

"When your mom brought up my parents I remembered that I'd been meaning to tell you what happened to them. So, my mom was in a fatal car accident. I got a visit from two officers a month or so after graduation, informing me that my parents had been killed and that I needed to fly home to identify their bodies because my dad didn't have any Identification on him. When I got there, I didn't recognize the guy they say was in the car with my mom. So, I called my dad and he was on a business trip in Ohio." Larissa pauses, and West sits up and asks

"How could they have mistaken his identity?"

"I have no idea!" she responds

"Needless to say, my dad was devastated, three weeks later he had a heart attack and died." she adds as her eyes swell with unshed tears

"I'm so sorry babe." he whispers softly

Suddenly Larissa jumps up and rushes to the bathroom and vomits. West slowly walks into the bathroom behind her and says

"Riss, I'm really starting to worry about you. Let me take you to the hospital!" he says softly

"I don't need to go to the hospital, West. I'm fine, this is normal, and I have an appointment scheduled Tuesday." she replies

As she comes out of the bathroom West gives her a bottled water

"Thank you" she says

"Are you sure you're ok?" he asks

"Yes, thank you! So, it wasn't until my father passed that I fully understood why he took my mom's death so hard. He had no idea if she was cheating on him or who the guy was in the car with her and not being able to get answers killed him. They finally came back with an ID six weeks after the crash, but I didn't care by then. And didn't even know who he was. I never tried to figure it out." Larissa continues

"I don't mean to sound insensitive and yes, what happened to them was tragic but what does your parents' deaths have to do with you wanting to pay for everything?" he states

"I'm getting there, and I don't want to pay for everything." she says as she walks over and sits on his lap.

"My parents left me a hefty trust fund and they also had a few life insurance policies each. My dad had some kind of insurance that paid off all of his debts. On top of the trust fund my grandparents left me" Larissa searches his eyes and waits for his response, but he doesn't say anything

"That is why you have such a big gorgeous house and two cars!" he responds finally

"I've never touched my trust funds and the only thing I brought was my house and a car." she says

"Ok, that's great, but that still doesn't mean anything" he whispers

"I have more money than I will ever be able to spend. Sometimes I feel like it's a curse because I don't need to work. That leaves me searching for something that I'm passionate about and that I'll wake up every day looking forward to doing. And after all these years I haven't found it. For the past year I've had weeks where I didn't even want to get out of bed, let alone leave the house." she confesses

"Riss, that isn't a curse it's a blessing. You have the freedom that most people dream of. I know that the way you got it was tragic, but I'm sure your parents would want nothing more than for you to be happy. That's why they made sure if something was to happen to them you would at least have the opportunity to live your dreams. It's normal to have some bad days. I can't even begin to imagine what these last four years have been like for you. I'm sorry I wasn't there for you." West says

"I say it's a curse because I feel so lost. Especially since I came here, well to Orlando. I admire all that you've done at Utopia, not only have you dedicated your life to making your dreams come true, but you've accomplished them masterfully! All without a trust fund and life insurance money, just hard work and dedication." she says

"You are a part of that dream Larissa, both of you! Everything that I have achieved was with hopes of one day sharing it all with you. And I do, or did have a trust fund, that's the money I used to buy and remodel the resort." he says laying his hand on her belly

Leaning in she kisses him sweetly, their kiss deepens, and Larissa pulls away and says

"Okay, but wait West I'm not done!" attempting to sit up

"What do you mean?" he asks

"There is one more thing I wanted to tell you."

"What?" he says letting her sit up and she slowly begins

"After my parents died I brought my house, and a car and that's it. So, I still have...." West puts his finger up to her lip and says

"Wait! I don't want to know how much money you have!" West states quietly

"But, I want you to." she responds

"It's your money and I don't need to know." he says

"I would hope that one day it'll be ours" she states looking at him

"When that time comes we can discuss it, but not now......." West states as Larissa stands up and walks over to a table.

"I'm not telling you because you asked me or because I feel like you want to know, it's because I want you to know!" she states

"I see you are not going to let this go" West says rolling his eyes

"I have roughly Seventy-three million dollars! Not including all the assets and properties my dad had" she says quickly before he can stop her again

"Whoa?" West says in disbelief after a beat

"Yeah, so I really need you to rethink your 'untraditionalness' views!" she states as she walks back over to him

"Untraditionalness! Is that even a word?" West asks amused

"Yes, it is! But seriously, I don't want you to focus so much on the money and who's buying what. We both have money and I want you to be comfortable with it not mattering. There is nothing traditional about us anyway!" she says softly

"Ok, but that doesn't change the fact that I love you and want to take care of you! That doesn't change because you have more money than you know what to do with." West replies

Larissa takes his hands and they stand looking into each other's eyes Larissa says

"I know, and I get it. I love you too! I just want you to realize that right now it's my money, but my hope is that one day you will be able to accept it as our money!"

"Ok, I don't want to talk about this anymore. The only promise I can make you is I'll always love you no matter what!" West says

"Thank you!"

"Now, is that all?" he says as he smiles and wraps his arms around her

"I guess, for now!" she says

"I'm so grateful to have you back in my life! And I have no plan to ever let you go!" West says as he kisses her. Then picking her up he lays her across the bed.

"I think we should cancel with my parents and stay in!" West states with a silly smirk

"No, we can't cancel." she replies

"Sure, we can!"

"No, move. Let's get ready!" she says as she sits up

"But I don't want to go" West complaints rolling onto his back

"We already committed to go, and we should hang out with your folks considering the news we have to break to them soon. And we have to get to the bottom of why your mom seems to hate me so much" she reminds him

"I guess, but we aren't going to be out late, you need to rest and stop worrying about Rita!" he says

West calls his dad and lets him know they'll meet them in the lobby in twenty minutes.

Larissa says

"I'll bring money" glancing at West she heads for her purse

"I don't want to bring my purse. Can you put this in your wallet please?" she asks handing him some money, taking it, he asks

"How much is this?"

"I don't know, why?" she replies

West counts the money and says

"Babe, this is almost two grand. Why do you have this much cash on you?" he asks

"I don't like using my card on the road, why, what's the big deal?" she says

"Please, don't carry this much cash on you at one time!" West states

"Yes sir!" she replies

West leans in kisses her and says, "Thank you!"

"Are you ready?" she asks

"Yes, I only want to stay for about an hour. You need to get some rest, we have a long day tomorrow, lots of walking!" he reminds her

"Ok."

Downstairs Joe and Rita are waiting in the lobby. Walking up West says

"I ordered a car for this evening." leading the way, he holds Larissa's hand tight and whispers

"Are you okay?"

"Yes, I'm fine." she replies

The ride to the casino is only about five minutes. Mr. West tells Larissa how glad he is to see her and West back together. Mrs. West quickly changes the subject, making her disapproval known. Once at the casino West gets out and walks in with his mom leaving Mr. West and Larissa to follow. As they do she watches as he says something to his mother. Joe quickly sparks up a conversation as a distraction.

"Larissa have you had a chance to tour the resort?" he asks

He must know that West is talking to his mom about her so he's trying to distract her, with very little success.

"Yes Sir! I know you all must be very proud of all that he's accomplished." she states

"Oh yes, of course his mother and I are thrilled to see him living his dream. Now that you're here it's finally complete!" Joe says with a smile

"Thanks for that, I'm sure you're the only one that feels that way." she says in a soft whisper

"Don't worry about Rita honey, she will come around! She's very protective of her boys and she's really missed you. I haven't seen West this happy since high school." he adds

Before she can respond she is hit with urge to vomit. Seeing the restroom sign across the room she quickly heads for it.

"Excuse me!" she says as she takes off

Out of the corner of his eye West sees her rushing to the restroom and follows her. Standing outside the door for over ten minutes he begins to worry.

"Hey, are you alright?" West asks when she finally walks out

"Yes" she says not really sure

"Are you sure, we can leave?" he states

"I'm sure, your mom will not be pleased if we do that" she says letting him know that she isn't oblivious to her disgust.

"Don't worry about Rita!" he says quickly

"I can't do this West!" Larissa says as she lays her head on his shoulder

West embraces her and then looks into her eyes and says

"We're here to have fun and enjoy the evening. If you can't do that we're leaving!" he states sharply

"But..." Larissa begins

"But nothing, are we staying or going?" West states

For a moment he stands looking at her waiting for a response, neither of them saying a word

"Okay!" he says taking her hand and leading her back out onto the floor to find his parents. Spotting them across the room he walks her to the entrance and says

"Wait here! I'll be right back"

West walks over to his dad and says something, then Mr. West glances towards her with a concerned look and West turns to walk back in her direction.

"We're leaving. I'll send the car back for them!"

Once they're back in the room Larissa asks

"Why does your mom hate me so much?"

"She doesn't hate you. She acts this way with every female Brian and I introduce her to!" West states

"She isn't the woman I remember! And just how many women have you introduced her to?" Larissa asks

"Why? Does that even matter?" he asks

"It doesn't, I just want to know!"

"Other than you, two! You want their names and addresses too!" he says trying to make a joke

"Only two, not bad. Bet that was your last date!" she replies sarcastically

"Look, that doesn't matter and neither does my mother's attitude. Let's focus on you!" he states

"What about me?" Larissa says walking over standing between West's legs

"Don't start!" he whispers as she kisses his cheek then his neck

"Your mother is going to be the grandmother of our child. Our relationship matters to me and I can't do anything to change that." she says

"There won't be any more, rude comments or looks from her. Can we please change the subject?" West says as his phone rings

"This is West!" he says answering

"Yes, she's fine."

"Ok, see you in a minute"

West hangs up the phone.

"See who in a minute?" Larissa asks

"My parents are stopping by. They will only be a second!" West says

Just as he says it there's a knock at the door. Walking in Joe says

"We are so sorry to impose on you two, we will only stay a minute."

"How are you feeling Larissa?" he continues

"I'm ok, thank you!" she replies

Glancing at West then to her Rita says

"Larissa I just wanted to stop by and apologize. I'm sorry if I made you feel uncomfortable. And I do hope you get some rest and feel better before the game tomorrow." she says scanning the room

"Thank you, I appreciate that!" she responds

They smile, and Mrs. West gives Larissa a hug.

Following that West asks

"Do you all have plans for breakfast?"

"No, we might order room service and stay in until it's time for the game." Joe replies

"Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's what we'll be doing." West states

"Ok, well good night and see you all tomorrow!" Joe says closing the door behind them

After their gone Larissa looks at West and says

"Sorry I made you feel uncomfortable! That has got to be the hardest thing she's ever done."

"I'm sure it was!" he replies

"What did you say to her?" she asks

"It doesn't matter. As long as her attitude stays this way, I won't have to say it again!" West says not giving anything away

"Ok, I guess!"

After a good night sleep Larissa and West wake up to a knock at the door. West puts on his robe and answers it. It's room service! West rolls the cart in and tips the young man.

"Good morning honey!" he says walking back over to the bed

"Good morning! What time is it?" Larissa asks

"It's only ten o'clock" he replies

"You ordered room service?"

"Yes, I pre-ordered it to be delivered at ten o'clock this morning." he answers

Getting up and heading to the bathroom Larissa says

"You think of everything, don't you?"

"I try!" he responds

Over breakfast West gives Larissa their plans for the day and reminds her that they have a flight scheduled after the game that evening.

"I completely forgot we were going to Detroit." she replies

"How could you forget, we have family dinner!"

"I don't know." she says

"Detroit tonight, Jacksonville Tuesday morning then Wednesday afternoon back to Orlando!" West says

"I'm exhausted already!" Larissa states softly

"Let's just take it a day at a time. How are you feeling this morning?" West asks

"Ok, for now" she says getting back into bed

West sits down at his laptop and checks his emails. A few minutes later Larissa says

"I still can't believe your mom apologized. I really want to know what you said to her!"

"Why, it doesn't matter!" he responds

"I'm just curious, she did a complete three-sixty."

"Babe, please drop it. It's not a big deal."

"I didn't say it was a big deal, I just want to know!" she states

"Drop it!" he says then walks into the bathroom

A second later he says

"It's getting late, get up and get dressed!"

"I don't think I want to go." she says softly

West steps back and looks wide eyed at her and says

"You're going, so get up!"

Rolling out of bed she begins getting dressed, after 45 minutes they are dressed and out the door. The elevator door opens to the lobby, stepping off the elevator Larissa states

"We are going to have a heart to heart as soon as we get to Jacksonville!"

Glancing at her he replies

"You are stressing about things that don't matter! Just trust me, please."

Grabbing her hand, he gently kisses her, then reaching into his pocket he retrieves his ringing phone

"This is West!" he says answering the phone

"Hey Dad. Good morning"

"We're heading to the game. What's up?" he states

"Okay, I'll send the car back for you guys." he says as he hangs up

Shortly after they head out to the car, Larissa rides silently looking out the window

"You look beautiful!" West says breaking the silence

"Thank you. You look quite edible yourself." she replies with a slight smile
