Moments to Never Forget
Black eyes looked back into my own. The color was not as I expected. Why was she so quiet? I felt my heart race as I met the creature, I was soon to be responsible for. The weight of the responsibility landed in my heart. The feeling of combined love and fear was overwhelming. Only calmed when I noticed how our breathing synchronized. It was as if this tiny baby and I were one in that moment.
I immediately knew I would do anything for her.
"I love you," I whispered.
I promised.
