Lost the Last Man
To the shock of the crew
“Sari, we need to get the crew on board quickly, we are being attacked,” I scream in panic.
Sari starts ushering everyone through the doors as bullets begin to sing around them.
“Hurry, hurry,” she cries.
Finally with everyone in, Sari pulls the door closed behind her. Then her blood freezes as she hears someone ask, “Where’s the Architect?”
She glances out the window and is shocked to see bullets pounding into the Architect’s back as he attempts to reach the ship.
He falls, staring into her eyes, hand reaching towards her, pleading.
She stares back, helpless to offer assistance.
I was challenged to write a drabble of the word 'architect'.
Wikipedia defines a drabble as follows :
A drabble is a short work of fiction of precisely one hundred words in length. The purpose of the drabble is brevity, testing the author's ability to express interesting and meaningful ideas in a confined space.

My first love is poetry — it’s like a desperate need to write, to free up space in my mind, to escape the constant noise in my head. Most of the time the poems write themselves — I’m just the conduit holding the metaphorical pen.
