She turned to the right and saw the gleaming steel. He had smoked a power packet and the steam emitted from his throat. Through the experience of living with machines, she gleaned a bit of knowledge about them.

“I’m only human. It’s funny. That phrase used to mean puny, given to accidents, ready to make mistakes. Now, it means you’re able, competent, whole. It took the likes of you for us to see that.”
