Severid-Marause perched on the precipice surveying the countryside glowing orange in the setting sun. The castle was in disarray. That female had staked Casimir and then set herself on fire, leaving the coven without an overlord.
And for what? Who wouldn't want to live forever in eternal youth? Why was she so repulsed by what she was? Because they drank blood? Because they were a predatory species? It was the natural order of things.
Severid-Marause shook his head in disgust. He was content with his lot in undeath as he transformed into a bat and flew off to feed.
