CHAPTER 1

The relief of leaving work at 4pm was shown all over my face. I quickly grabbed my keys and phone shoving it anxiously into my handbag. I felt drained of all my energy as the day's workload felt like a heavy weight, pressing against my shoulders.

I tiredly strolled across the carpark, where my 2020 Toyota was parked. As I sat in my vehicle adjusting my slanted rear view mirror, I looked at my reflection and thought, why was I so hurry to rush home?

You see I am thirty years old and the eldest child of three for my parents. I live alone in one of the apartments, of a popular apartment complex in the city. My life consists of work, watching my favorite television shows, and sleep, with the occasional visit to my parents' house. To say that I am an introvert, would be an understatement.

I arrived home and was greeted by a moving van which was inconveniently parked in my usual parking spot. I was so irritated, as all I wanted was to take a hot bath and to wrap my self in my blanket and go to sleep. I found another temporary parking spot, and exited my vehicle fuming. I wasn't going to let this go!

As I approached the moving van, which was already offloading furniture, I walked directly to one of the men moving furniture and irritatingly asked, 'who is responsible for parking this truck in my designated spot?' Looking obviously confused he pointed in the direction of a black Mercedes, parked not too far away.

I angrily walked in the direction of the Mercedes, wondering who was this arrogant fool that thinks they can occupy wherever they please. I stood by the driver's side of the vehicle, but the car was so heavily tinted, that I wasn't even sure if there was anyone in there.

I stood there for about a minute. This isn't worth it I thought, I'm just too darn tired. As I turned to make my exit, I suddenly heard the car window going down. I froze, as a heavy raspy voice of a man said, "how may I help you?" I angrily spun back around and all of a sudden I couldn't find my words, as I stared into the most gorgeous brown eyes I have ever seen.

A handsome face stared right back at me, looking impatient and confused. I felt as if I was frozen in time for a brief moment. The noise from the moving van fortunately snapped me back to my reality. I then realized that I had been staring. With my face flushed with embarrassment, I angrily said, 'who do you think you are, allowing that moving van to park in my designated spot?' He looked at me for a minute and rudely replied, "I didn't see your name on that spot." and then proceeded to send his car window back up.

I was fuming. Okay, no problem. 'LET'S SEE WHERE THIS GOES!'
