KILLER WEEDS
Challenge #4 Beware the Mundane! Horror!
Five months ago, a rocky gravel parking spot was installed in front of our driveway. At first, the gravel parking spot looked awesome and grand. We were so proud. Awww!
However three months later, not one, not two, but a lot of weeds started popping through the rocky gravel. The green weeds were popping up faster than a Whac-A-Mole arcade game.
Weeding is such a chore, the over-103-degree temperatures made it unbearable. Triumphantly, sprayed the weeds with Clorox. Instead of killing the weeds, the weeds grew greener. How could that be? It amazed me.
Several days later, filled the spray bottle with vinegar and water. Sprayed those green awful weeds, only to find the next morning that the weeds had multiplied. WTF! It should have killed the weeds, but it didn't.
After waiting two days to rest and regroup, early on a cool 80-degree morning, started pulling the weeds. Sweat dripped down my face. This wasn't going to work. It was time to go to the big box hardware store. Before heading out the door, I was reminded and instructed not to purchase the weed killer made by a particular company that caused deadly cancer.
At the store, read all the labels and selected the one that said it would kill weeds in three days. Rushing home, the green weeds were sprayed. Day one nothing happened. Day two nothing happened. Day three horrifically the fence, the truck, and the side of the house were covered in weeds.
Help! Help me!
The killer weeds are taking over the world.

Author's notes: This is my horror story. There was a horror movie the Killer Tomatoes. While I can't tell you the plot or anything about the movie, the memorable title is stuck in my brain.

Oh my... it sounds as if you ended up with Weed Feed instead of Weed Kill.
doesn't it seem like it that the good plants die and weeds don't. Very good
Day of the Triffids eat your heart out!
Yes killer tomatoes exactly, the whole time I was reading it it screamed good old fashioned 80s horror so cool love it
The nightmare that keeps me awake a night & sweating throughout the day (unless I've simply given up, like this year).
Great entry! I am still writing mine. I hope to have a finished copy today.
I enjoyed this suspenseful story! Awesome job Babs! I also love your new profile picture! :)
This was crazyyyyyy! Those weeds arw so scary, lol!
Ha ha ...I hate those weeds. Great job Babs
Positively horrifying, great work!
Omg imagine they started taking over the house! And you wake up in a bed of weeds!! 😱
This was pretty cool. Enjoyed it a lot.
This so relatable , I used to wake up early in the morning and cut them one by one. The easy and most expensive way is hire a company that put chemical on your lawn at Spring to prevent weeds . Enjoyed, Great take on the Challenge 🫧
Great job on this, Babs!
A weedy thriller. Good one Babs 🥰
