It was a beautiful late summer morning and Greg Russo was running late.

He didn't get much sleep, couldn't find his toothbrush, Lauren (his ex) called him right when he was walking out the door, and every taxi bypassed him until this one stopped.

He had considered calling in, but his job (a restaurant on the North Tower of the World Trade Center) needed him. He was a good chef, and one day he knew he'd be a great one.

He looked out the taxi's window and New York City looked so peaceful.

So peaceful.
