It Was That Bad! ... But Did You Die?

Author’s Note: These prompts are my attempt at working on writing fiction. I may not always follow the cards exactly, but I am working on writing fiction.

Fight The Giant — Cards against normality prompt: Every villain is a hero. Your antagonist probably thinks he's the good guy. Imagine the story from his perspective.

Plot out what would happen if your hero never showed up. What would the villain/antagonist do? Would a different hero rise up?

What is your villain's greatest fear? Who does he love? Can either of these cause him to take action in your story?

Brainstorm three moments in which your villain could be surprisingly heroic.

Highland 2

"I am a hero to many! They even exclaim me to be the king of our world! How could I be a villain to so many?" Don't worry about that sir, they are just jealous. Look at all the good you have done for the people. All your best friends are so grateful. The money they are making is unreal!

"Can we get rid of any of the propaganda that my enemies are sharing?" Well, sir, it is not really propaganda, and that is what makes it difficult to be rid of. None of your supporters believe it and most don't pay any attention to it. Some news programs are supporting you.

Remember those entertainment news programs. They are the best! "Well, we are doing a lot of good for the country, right?" Yes, right, sir. "You know that woman who is continually talking about age limits? Do you think she is right?" No sir, you are exactly the right age, with all that you have learned in your life.

You have probably forgotten more than she will ever know! "You have that right, about what all I've forgotten. That is what some are saying, that I am in the same condition as what's his name? Damn, there I go again!" Everyone forgets an occasional name. Don't worry about that.

Sir, you are my hero! You did put an end to so many things, right? That was enough for me. I would be dead if it wasn't for some of the drugs that have saved me. How can people not see this and appreciate you?

"Do you think that Indian woman may be right about medicines that come from nature being better for humans?" It doesn't matter, sir! It is done, everyone is convinced to take their medicines!

They have a medicine that they can use. We wish to get rid of her group anyway, don't we sir? Are there other ways we can assist with that? "We are doing plenty right now. Have you seen the list of what's nexts?"

That plan we have to follow is doing its job! It won't be long now. "Do you mean where I will be able to retire in any country in the world, and it will be one without extradition." Yes, and I will be right by your side, helping you to live your best life. A life without all the headaches of being the president.

"What will this pharmaceutical company do without me?"

Boss, you will go down in history as contributing so many pharmaceuticals that save lives, that prolong life, that make it easier to live daily.

"What about what people are saying about prices being out of sight, so that people have to choose drugs over buying food and having healthy food to eat? Do you think that is true?" No sir, how can that be true in this rich country we live in. And if it is we can always blame the president of this country!

"He is my friend, I don't blame him. After all, he is the one who helped me to put my plan into place, right? He is the genius who knows how to make money and how to take the focus off of the important and place it on the unimportant."

You are right. We wouldn't want to blame him, unless we have to!
