Since the dawn of time the Unseelie Court had a council set up in order to prevent any of their darker fae kind from spooking any humans to the point of retaliation. VELEBREZZA was one of a set of twins who were in line to become the next of the Morrigan line to fill a seat on the council, but only one of them could become a council member.

Her sister, PERTIVA, was the known favorite of the current Supreme Matriarch. Vele thought her to be a brown-noser, and that she would certainly steal her spotlight.

One day the Supreme Matriarch, SVANELLE, called Pertiva, and Velebrezza to the council with a very important task to assign them. Three dark spirit leeches had been wreaking havoc on humanity, and the council feared they would attract attention they did not need. The two young women were asked to travel to the Caverns of Obscurity to collect quality obsidian in order to trap the leeches with. They were to make them into stone heads that represented the leech they housed. Vele could not believe her luck. For with this opportunity she could find a way to get rid of her pesky sister, and gain favor for the seat on the council.

In the Caverns of Obscurity everyone knew the sluagh dwelt. Sluagh were creatures that loved the taste of flesh whether being immortal, or that of men. Plotting out her sister’s demise out would be easy, and a trap for luring the sluagh was set; though it was known that Pertiva’s ghost could haunt Vele she needed some way to be free of her for good. While Pertiva worked Vele readied a special extra stone to imprison Pertiva in.

Her plan worked to perfection, and the sound of her sister’s screams echoing off the cavern walls was enhanced by the sound of blood splatter lining the muddy, and seeping walls. Velebrezza’s eyes flickered in the darkness, and as soon as she completed the task of capturing Pertiva’s essence she went about the task of capturing each leech.

It was a complete success, and when Vele returned to the council with the stone heads they beseeched her to create Vele sent Pertiva’s stone head to be set midcenter of a powerful amulet. Every day Vele wore the amulet. Even up to the day that she won the seat on council, and later became Supreme Matriarch. For years, and centuries she wore the amulet safely resting between the warmth of her ample cleavage.

One night a pair of weasels ventured into her room, and spotting the beautiful amulet amidst the three other stone heads they stole the treasure right from beneath her nose. Vele awoke screaming, and cursing at her loss of such important artifacts. So worried was she about Pertiva’s accident releasing that she searched throughout the day, and nights.

Yet the heads were never found. Time moved onward, and the weasels that stole the stone heads eventually died. Their burrow was left empty, and abandoned, and the stone heads were forgotten about.

Fate never kept such secrets buried for long though, and a young couple on a camping trip to Lake Pontchartrain happened to be the unlucky finders of the stolen artifacts.

HANNA thought they were amusing, and wanted to learn more about them.

GREG, her fiancé, agreed and the two of them brought them home before contacting a local antique store.

Little did they know, but the finding of the stone heads was activated by human intervention, and the sins of the flesh which touched them was all it took to release the spirit leeches of; chaos, destruction, and death. Though of all four of the entities the monstrous Morrigan, Pertiva, was the most terrifying.

Presenting herself before the two humans she gave them but two options, “You will venture through the Caverns of Obscurity to the Hall of the Unseelie. So that I can exact my vengeance upon my unsuspecting sister.” She whispered to them both. In her most appealing form she was a beautiful, and ethereal seductress of either gender. In her worst form she was a haggard witch with the capabilities to become a murder (gathering of crows), mist, or even frogs, and toads. In this form she was much easier to withstand though none the less frightening, “Or else I will allow the leeches to thrive off of you, drive you to insanity till your deaths, and haunt any of your offspring; but if you do as I request I will grant you each one fair wish. Your choice, or dead fish!” Pertiva cackled at the two.

Hanna, and Greg agree, but the journey through the Cavern of Obscurity is no easy task, and every sort of nightmare they could imagine becomes yet another trial on their path. In the end Pertiva gains her vengeance, Velebrezza is destroyed, the leeches replaced in each stone head to keep safely in a vault, and Greg and Hanna move on with their happy-go-lucky lives as man, and very wealthy wife.

Velebrezza, and Pertiva are twins. Direct descendants of the Morrigan, but when a position of power threatens them Vele murders her sister.
