As she walked into the coffee shop, she noticed a man sitting at a table in the corner. There was something about him that caught her eye. She couldn't quite put her finger on it, but there was an air of mystery about him that intrigued her.

She ordered her coffee and sat down at a table nearby. As she sipped her drink, she found herself glancing over at the man from time to time. He was reading a book and seemed lost in thought.

After a few minutes, he looked up and their eyes met. There was a moment of recognition between them, as if they had known each other for years. Without thinking, she got up and walked over to his table.

"Hi," she said, smiling. "Mind if I join you?"

"Please," he replied, gesturing to the empty chair opposite him.

They struck up a conversation, talking about everything from books to travel to their favorite foods. As they chatted, she found herself drawn to him more and more.

There was something about his deep, dark eyes that made her feel like she was the only person in the world. She found herself telling him things she had never told anyone before, and he listened intently, never judging or interrupting.

Before she knew it, several hours had passed. The coffee shop was closing, and they had to leave. As they said goodbye, she realized that she didn't even know his name.

"Wait," she said, turning back to him. "I don't even know your name."

"It's James," he replied, smiling.

"James," she repeated, savoring the sound of it on her lips.

They exchanged numbers and made plans to see each other again. Over the next few weeks, they went on dates and talked on the phone for hours on end. She had never felt this way about anyone before. It was like he was the missing piece of her puzzle. They went to the movies, but she felt like she didn't absorb anything from them. All she could look at was him.

She showed him all of her favorite restaurants, the places she usually ate alone. He was delighted by all of the food she showed him, from the Indian hole-in-the-wall place to the fancy Italian spot. He hadn't tried any of it before. She never asked why, and he never brought up his background. All he said was that he wasn't from around here. She often wondered what he meant by "here." Did "here" mean the city? The state? The country? He had a smooth accent that she had never heard before.

Over the course of their dates, she felt her feelings growing stronger and stronger. One evening, as they sat on a park bench watching the sunset, he took her hand and looked deep into her eyes.

"I have something to tell you," he said, his voice serious.

"What is it?" she asked, a knot forming in her stomach.

"I'm not who you think I am," he said, his expression unreadable.

"What do you mean?" she asked, confused.

"I'm not from here," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "I'm from another world. A world where things are different, where I have powers that you wouldn't believe."

She sat there, stunned. She didn't know what to think. Was he crazy? Was he joking? Or was he telling the truth?

"Prove it," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

And with that, he took her hand and lifted her off the ground. They soared through the sky, over the city, and into the stars. The cool wind rushed through her hair and she shivered. He hugged her tighter and kissed her neck gently.

"I've got you," he whispered into her ear.

As they flew, she felt free, weightless, and alive. It was like nothing she had ever experienced before. They landed on a distant planet, where he showed her things that she could never have imagined. She met creatures that were half-animal, half-human, and saw landscapes that were straight out of a dream. But this is not a story about that planet. This is a love story. Despite everything she saw, she felt that nothing on that planet was half as amazing, as breath-taking, as her feelings for him. She walked through that other planet as though she was walking through a dream. All that tethered her to reality was his hand in hers.

It could have been days, months, or maybe even years that she stayed on his planet. She was caught up in him, completely and fully head over heels obsessed.

But eventually, they had to return to Earth. As they landed back in the park where they had taken off from, she looked at him with a mix of awe and confusion.

"I don't understand," she said, shaking her head. "How is this possible?"

"I have powers," he said simply. "I can do things that others can't."

She still couldn't wrap her head around it, but one thing was certain: she loved him. And she was willing to accept whatever he was, whatever he could do.

Over the next few weeks, they continued to see each other, but things were different now. She couldn't forget what she had seen, what he had shown her. It was like a whole new world had opened up to her, and she wanted to explore it more. She started asking him questions about his world, his powers, and he was happy to answer them.

But then, one day, he disappeared. He didn't show up for their date, and she couldn't get a hold of him. She was worried sick. Had something happened to him? Was he hurt?

Days turned into weeks, and she still hadn't heard from him. She went to the park where they had taken off from, hoping to find some clue as to where he had gone. As she sat on the bench where they had sat so many times before, she saw a glimmer of light out of the corner of her eye. She turned to look, and saw him standing there, his eyes glowing.

"I have to go," he said, his voice filled with regret.

"Go where?" she asked, tears streaming down her face.

"Back to my world," he replied. "There are things I have to do there, things I can't ignore any longer."

"Will you come back?" she asked, her voice trembling.

"I don't know," he said, shaking his head. "But I promise you this: I will never forget you. You will always be in my heart."

And with that, he disappeared into the light. She sat there for hours, crying, hoping that he would come back. But he never did.

Years passed, and she tried to move on. She dated other men, but no one could ever measure up to James. She couldn't forget the feeling of his hand in hers, the way he looked at her with those deep, dark eyes. She wondered if he ever thought about her, if he ever missed her.

And then, one day, she saw him again. He was standing on the same corner where they had first met, a smile on his face. She ran to him, throwing her arms around him, not caring who was watching.

"I thought I'd never see you again," she whispered into his ear.

"I promised you I'd never forget you," he said, his voice filled with emotion. "And I haven't."

They spent the day together, catching up on all that had happened in the years since they had last seen each other. He told her about the things he had done, the people he had met, and she listened intently, amazed by everything he had experienced. And then, as the sun began to set, he took her hand and lifted her off the ground once again.

"Where are we going?" she asked, laughing.

"Somewhere special," he replied, grinning.

And with that, they flew off into the sunset, ready to start a new adventure together.
