There is no once upon a time in this story. It sounds trite to say once upon a time, since this is a story that begins before once upon a time.

It all begins with a full gigantic tree that has several names, Bodhi, Kalpavriksha, and Yggdrasil are a couple of examples but they all point to the Tree of Life. It is said to be wider than the eye could see and filled with rich foliage of too much to name. This tree had created the gods of good and they too, have many names. With their nurture and care, a world was born. First, the humans came with their high intelligence and creativity. As their imaginations grew, the people themselves created a world of myths and legends that all came true that the Tree of Life made happen. Soon, the humans shared a world with fairies, dragons, and other magical beings known as the Mystics. Together they helped each other make the planet earth what it was; a peaceful and beautiful world full of life, enchantment, and joy.

That bliss was short lived as an evil and demonic entity swept through the earth like a shadow and began to manipulate the humans. Many of them started wars with themselves, the Mystics and destroyed much of what they had created. This angered the gods and they began to fear what human nature can do to the rest of that planet. The gods made things harder for humans by violent storms to terrible diseases. When things go from bad to worse, the tree began to speak in all the hearts of the mortals and immortals.

“STOP IT!” It screamed as it lifted its roots and its trunk had given off a bright blinding light that showed off its very essence and power. After witnessing this wondrous sight and everyone, mortal and otherwise obeyed the great tree. Once again, they faced the tree and began to listen.

“Hear me now for the truth is not to be forgotten. What was once can be again. This dark and evil time is not forever. I have seen the future and one day things will be better than ever. The human race has such potential to evolve as do the rest of us. I have learned and grown just as the rest of you will.”

The tree gave hope to all of those suffering from their own actions and wrong doing to others. It also made a decision that day to create separate worlds for the mystics and humans, the Nether Realm and Earth Realm. For a time, things were peaceful once again for the mystics and as the Tree of Life prophesied, humans began to learn and evolve. Soon the Nether Realm became a myth, dismissed as a fairy-tale and then was forgotten.

However, the Earth Realm was still a place where mystics loved to visit and enjoyed it from time to time while it was home to humans. Portals would open where the mystics came and went as they pleased but humans could never go into the Nether Realm unless it was in dreams, drugs, or insanity. Some humans however did manage to come and live in this world without resorting to such measures. The rare humans that accomplished this would have changed the world in a way that was positive to both realms. These amazing humans would “vanish into thin air” according to human records. It was not a curse but a gift and most were never able to come back unless they chose to go by reincarnation and forget what they have seen in the Nether Realm.

They could not even go through the portals that are known to show up a time or two. The portals can never be controlled or used by humans. Portals are unpredictable and they open by accident from time to time. Some portals are easy to close (like a haunted house) while others (like the Bermuda Triangle) could never be closed by the means of mankind.

Still both worlds lived on and continued to dream of big things but evil entities still causes chaos in both of these worlds. The malevolent entities didn’t want either side to have peace or to evolve. They want to crush the good that both worlds have and continue to keep both worlds separate if not in ruins. But time passes like the flow of the river and the creatures in both worlds did not know if history was going to repeat itself all over again.
