Insecurities

Not knowing where to start from or how to go about it. I’m Blessing Bassey, from Nigeria.

It's natural to have insecurities, but remember that everyone has their own unique qualities and strengths. Focusing on self-improvement and positive self-talk can help build confidence over time.

I’ll tell a story about myself. I am a Nigerian girl of about 18 years of age and i school in a university in Benin republic. Life isn’t that easy but one has to learn. Also my discipline is mass communication.

Life as a girl who is smallish and not having curves like the rest of colleagues isn’t very interesting for me. Most times they look down at me which isn’t right.

Aside that, there are clothes I’ll love to get but because of my small size I can’t wear them. There’s this feeling that it won’t look good on me or my curves won’t be out like when others wear it. I must admit it feels very uncomfortable and depressing to me.

I always wish my boobs could add a little and also add some body… I have tried supplements but i guess that’s how it’s supposed to be.

I realized that my insecurities had been holding her back, and I have made any friend. Slowly but surely, I began to embrace herself. I started wearing baggy jeans and dressed good to lectures and made new friends.

Over time, I grew in more confidence, and i became loved by people. In my journey, I discovered that everyone battles their own insecurities, and it's the willingness to embrace one's uniqueness that leads to empowerment.

As time goes on my insecurities turned into strengths to me.

Here is a word of affirmation to those who feel insecure. “You are worthy of love and acceptance just as you are. Your uniqueness is a gift, and your journey is filled with growth and possibilities. Embrace your strengths, learn from challenges, and remember that your worth goes far beyond any insecurities you may feel.”
