My heart races as I drive to Andy’s house. My mind spinning, wondering why I’ve received this invite tonight. Usually when he has guests over I’m left uninvited, so what’s changed?
I’m not sure why I accepted. I don’t even like the guy, if I’m blatantly honest. I plan to slink into the background and let everyone else hog the spotlight. I’ll leave as soon as I can.
I pull into Andy’s driveway and walk up to the door. Andy swings it open and smiles, “Hello Evie, I’m looking forward to our little confab tonight. It’s just you and I.”

I was challenged to write a drabble of the word ‘confab'.
Wikipedia defines a drabble as follows :
A drabble is a short work of fiction of precisely one hundred words in length. The purpose of the drabble is brevity, testing the author's ability to express interesting and meaningful ideas in a confined space.

My first love is poetry — it’s like a desperate need to write, to free up space in my mind, to escape the constant noise in my head. Most of the time the poems write themselves — I’m just the conduit holding the metaphorical pen.

Oooo, that's a new word for me! Also, I'd hate to be Evie! My anxiety could never!
