I WANT TO SEE

We were traveling for days, Grace and I loved nature and its natural phenomena, and planned to go to Norway to see the Aurora Borealis.

This was a milestone in our lives, we are African and here the sky offers us star shows in various parts of our continent but we longed for the Aurora, the amazing green light, and our route was well thought out so we could enjoy the trip to the fullest.

We did a stopover flight from Angola to Portugal, arriving in Portugal the plan was to travel by train to appreciate the places, to do train tourism, we left Portugal and went to Spain, from Spain we went to the country where the city of love is, France, in Paris, we made the most of it and there was little left to our destination, however much we had just seen new places what we most wanted was the green light coming from the Aurora Borealis.

From Paris we went to Germany and from Germany, we went to Denmark and we could appreciate the wonder of the architecture of that amazing country, we were no longer so worried because we were 10:15m from Norway... in Unstad, but the anxiety continued to speak louder and the certainty that it was worth living this experience to experience up close everything being tinged by the color of the green light that comes from the Aurora Borealis.

And we arrived in Norway in Unstad, we met many locals and went to the place where the phenomenon happens, we rented a car and camped there with some natives to hear their stories and their experiences about the Aurora Borealis, when you study a lot about something and now you are about to see it up close, experience something that we only read about on the internet and in books and all we knew was that the phenomenon happens during solar storms, when a gas called plasma, which is electrified by particles of electrons and protons, departs from the Sun, the plasma comes into contact with the atmosphere and the Earth's magnetic field, which acts as a shield against these particles coming from our Mother Star... When the Sun is more active, especially in the corona, which is its outermost layer, it releases a huge amount of electrons, so then the show begins.

And when the time came, many of the locals slept and others didn't as Grace and I didn't either and we visualized that wonder, so incredible and surreal, it looked like something out of a cartoon, I didn't even blink my eyes, we stood there amazed with such beauty that I don't need words because I can't even describe it, the sensation that I also had was to reach up there and touch them, but this is impossible and if it was possible it wouldn't do us much good, if you know the Aurora Borealis is a sign that the Sun is releasing a lot of energy and this energy coming here causes interference in our signal, in the GPS and much more, as it happened in the 1850s.

In five years we are always getting ready to make these trips to other places where we can spot the amazing green light again.

Before we could do just me and Grace but now we have Zorah and Zamar, we want our children to be able to value these things and learn from them how to live to respect everything in nature and take away extraordinary lessons for life, it kind of became a legacy we left for our generation.
